"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." was a changed show in its second season. In its early days, the Marvel Television series suffered from an identity crisis. Season 1 started out trying to emulate co-creator Joss Whedon's previous work, yet it played as a pale imitation of shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and especially "Firefly," following a ragtag team of misfits on weekly adventures in their flying home base. However, the one-two combo punch of Whedon stepping away from the series and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" blowing up the Marvel Cinematic Universe's status quo near the end of season 1 proved to be just the creative boost the show needed.
Upon returning for season 2, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." had gained a newfound confidence. Its characters began to take on greater dimensions, it really embraced the idea of being a show about everyday people trying to keep the world safe, and it even started...

Everyone’s buzzing about The Traitors, and we might know at least one star who’s in the cast!
Season 3 of the hit reality TV series was confirmed by Peacock back in early February.
Hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming at an ancient castle set deep in the Scottish Highlands, reality TV contestants work together on a series of exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden amongst the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves. Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors murder the Faithful one by one in a treacherous spree, while the Faithful try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor or Traitors makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.

Claudia Winkleman is said to be returning to host a celebrity version of The Traitors, due to air in 2025.
Proving that there are few things more compelling to watch than a bunch of people conniving and scheming behind each other’s backs in a Scottish castle, The Traitors has been a confirmed hit for the BBC. The second series aired in January, and as we wrote at the time, it was manipulative but thoroughly addictive television.
According to Deadline, the series – which already has several incarnations in other countries – is about to be expanded further, with regular host Claudia Winkleman set to head up a celebrity version.
The series hasn’t been officially announced yet, but Deadline’s sources have said that an agreement between The Traitors’ production company Studio Lambert and the BBC “is close”. If it happens, the celebrity Traitors series will film in 2025 alongside a third series of the mainline show.

The actors from the current revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s “Merrily We Roll Along” have skyrocketed in Gold Derby’s combined odds for the 2024 Tony Awards nominations. The prediction center displays commanding leads for Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez and Daniel Radcliffe to win their respective categories. This is an understandable result considering this revival is the hottest ticket in town and this trio of performers has been ever-present in the media. But how often does a trio of actors from the same production pull off three separate acting victories at the Tony Awards?
It’s quite common for a musical to grab two acting trophies, but three awards is much rarer. To date, only 15 musical productions have earned three acting wins. The first time this feat occurred was at the 1956 ceremony, which was ironically the first time the Tony Awards ever announced a slate of nominees (previously...

Do the Gamers know they don't have a monopoly on reality television?
The second season of The Traitors is a cultural experience -- it's the Megatron of reality television. It has so much built-in reality TV lore and glory that it's no wonder it sets social media on fire.
Honestly, it's the Olympics of reality television and absolutely delicious for understanding every facet of how the genre and its respective fandoms work.
It's the Super Bowl of reality greatness. While some kinks still need to be worked out with the series, from formatting to editing and plenty in between, The Traitors U.S. understands the assignment and deserves to be the hit that it is.
All renditions of The Traitors are positively devourable for various reasons. The savagery of The Traitors U.K. is epic all on its own, and The Traitors Australia has fascinating gameplay.
But The Traitors U.

The Traitors 2 came to an epic conclusion this week.
After one final challenge to increase the prize pot, $208,000 was on the line for the Season 2 players.
Chris “Ct” Tamburello gets most of the credit for adding $50,000 in the final Mission, as he put on a show while the other players watched.
The final Traitor of the season was Kate Chastain, who was left alone after Phaedra Parks was Banished on the previous episode.
Phaedra from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Married to Medicine had recruited Kate from Below Deck. But Kate wasn’t given much choice, as she would have been Murdered had she turned down the request.
People were on to Phaedra for a while, and she got voted out in seventh place. Kate then Murdered Shereé Whitfield from Rhoa to convince people the Bravo women weren’t working together.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “The Traitors,” now streaming on Peacock.
Just like the entire season, “The Traitors” Season 2 finale was jam-packed with drama up until the very end.
After banishing the final traitor, plus two innocent faithfuls, “The Challenge” pals Ct Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella split the final jackpot of over $200,000.
“Below Deck” star Kate Chastain was the last remaining traitor after “Real Housewives of Atlanta” queen Phaedra Parks was banished in last week’s penultimate episode. However, Kate drew a lot of attention to herself at last week’s roundtable after she piled on Phaedra and called her “more selfish than skillful.”
In her first night as a solo traitor, Kate murdered “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alumni Sheree Whitfield, but the pressure was already high from the remaining faithfuls: “Shahs of Sunset” star Mj Javid, “Survivor” double winner Sandra Diaz-Twine, Ct and Trishelle.

The winner of season two of The Traitors has been revealed!
The Peacock reality competition series, hosted by Alan Cumming, has been a huge hit for the streaming service and fans have been loving this season.
In the show, contestants worked together on missions to fill their prize pot with up to $250,000. Several “Traitors” were selected by Alan at the start of the game, and the rest of the contestants are called the “Faithful.”
The Faithful must try to identify who among them is a Traitor, banishing one member in each episode after a roundtable discussion. At the same time, the Traitors murder a Faithful each night, while also working to keep their identities secret. In the end, if the Faithful banish all the Traitors, they’ll split the prize among them all, but if a Traitor makes it to the end, the money is all theirs.
So, who won?...

There are many lessons to be gleaned from Season Two of The Traitors, Peacock’s smash hit reality TV competition based on the parlor game Mafia: 1) that you should never drink from an ominous-looking rusty chalice, particularly if it has been offered to you by a notoriously cutthroat former Survivor contestant; 2) that virtually everyone looks cool in emerald-green velvet cloaks; and 3) that Peacock has an insanely high budget for both breakfast pastries and Alan Cumming’s headgear.

Ahead of the 2024 Oscars, the Nuclear Threat Initiative (Nti) launched its “Make Nukes History” campaign in Los Angeles, using the nominated film Oppenheimer to expand the conversation on nuclear threats.
As explained on the Nti’s official site, the campaign involves billboards, an art installation, street posters and an open letter signed by various stars, calling for the use of nuclear weapons to be ceased.
In a statement shared with the announcement of the campaign, Matthew Modine, who was part of Oppenheimer‘s cast, writes, “Every person should be educated about the incredible destructive power of nuclear weapons. Understanding the threat illuminates a necessary path toward their elimination.”
Modine adds, “Hundreds of thousands of Americans have been directly harmed by radioactive fallout from the hundreds of nuclear explosions conducted on U.S. soil. From the moment of the first atomic bomb test at Los Alamos, New Mexico, our entire planet has been at risk.

Peter Weber, known as Pilot Pete to Bachelor Nation, became the second person to trade in the “Bachelor” mansion for the Scottish castle of “The Traitors.”
Weber joined Season 2 of Peacock’s competition series as a Faithful, someone who is covertly working to sniff out the three Traitors within the cast and banish them out to take home the cash prize. The “Bachelor” leading man follows in the footsteps of Arie Luyendyk Jr., who was a Faithful in Season 1 and nearly made it to the end of the game.
Halfway through this season, Weber put a major target on his back by going after the Traitors. Weber led a loyal group of Faithfuls and planted a trap that Gheesling fell for, which soon led to the downfall of the Traitors’ trio and their eventual banishments. The Traitors absolutely took over television this year!
Season 2 of the Peacock series was announced back in September of 2023, and premiered on the streamer on January 12.
In the show, contestants worked together on missions to fill their prize pot with up to $250,000. Several “Traitors” were selected by host Alan Cumming at the start of the game, and the rest of the contestants are called the “Faithful.”
After the show aired, several stars gained tons of followers.

Following the murder of Kevin Kreider, only nine players remained in the running to win the second season of “The Traitors.” Last week, the contestants were evenly divided between either banishing Peter Weber or Phaedra Parks, but we cut to a cliffhanger before Mercedes “Mj” Javid could reveal her all-important vote. So did Mj vote to banish Pete or Phaedra? And who became the next murder victim this week?

The Traitors 2 shocked viewers by bringing back Kate Chastain from Below Deck.
The reality television star also appeared on the first season of The Traitors, which made her return very surprising.
Kate showed up at the Scotland castle midway through Season 2, leading to some questions about why she had returned.
But as The Traitors 2 gets closer to naming a winner, it seems that Kate has a route to possibly winning that $250,000 prize.
For Kate’s fans who haven’t tuned in to watch The Traitors, it is a show where contestants are competing for a prize pool. Some players are Traitors, intending to steal money from everyone else (the Faithfuls).
Like many other reality competition shows, it comes down to winning challenges and not getting voted out. One major twist is that many people get suspected of being Traitors.

The Traitors- Pictured: Alan Cumming — (Photo by: Peacock) The Traitors has emerged as one of the hottest reality shows on television, especially in the streaming realm. As the name implies, the elaborate game show includes a group of duplicitous competitors who try to eliminate the “faithful” players and claim the prize money for themselves. Fittingly, the host of the show is Alan Cumming, who played the duplicitous political operative Eli Gold on The Good Wife and The Good Fight. As the show’s host, he needs to be able to keep the identities of the traitors secret — something he admits is not an easy thing for him to do. The Peacock series, which premiered in January and airs every Thursday night, has become an addictive guilty pleasure, earning the number one spot among unscripted streaming series and turning out endlessly quotable one-liners and internet memes on a weekly basis.
The global franchise originated with the Dutch show De Verraders in 2021. A year later, The Traitors was adapted for a U.

Kate Chastain loves the spotlight and has it for the new episode of The Traitors 2.
Phaedra Parks decided to give Kate the chance to become a Traitor. But it wasn’t much of a choice.
Kate can become a Traitor or be sent home. Host Alan Cumming let Phaedra know the stakes, and that’s what she decided.
Dan Gheesling began the season with Phaedra as the two Traitors. They then invited Parvati Shallow to join them.
Dan became an early target and was the first Traitor to be Banished. Parvati then invited Peter Weber to become a Traitor, but he declined.
Parvati was also Banished after acting suspiciously, leaving Phaedra as the only remaining Traitor. And that’s when the Real Housewife turned to Kate.

Helen Mirren got the royal treatment a queen deserves Thursday night from the American Cinematheque in a ceremony delayed by the actors strike but finally taking place right during crunch time in the Oscar race.

When Dame Helen Mirren took the stage at the Beverly Hilton to accept the 37th annual American Cinematheque Award on Thursday night, she began by reciting an elegant, if cliched, declaration of gratitude for her lifetime spent working in Hollywood.
“Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and dear friends. I am deeply humbled, profoundly honored, to stand before you today accepting this extraordinary award,” Mirren said while reading from a large sheet of paper. “To be recognized for a lifetime devoted to the craft of acting is a privilege beyond words. This has been a life filled with passion, challenges, and above all, an unyielding love for the art of storytelling.”

Dr. Will Kirby is featured on the eighth episode of The Traitors 2.
His ties to reality television made Will the perfect addition to the Peacock show.
It’s a shame the other Big Brother alums from the season got eliminated much earlier.
Big Brother 10 winner Dan Gheesling was Banished after many players suspected him of being a Traitor. He was the first Traitor discovered this season.
Janelle Pierzina played on four seasons of Big Brother, including two All-Stars installments. Having her on The Traitors was a treat, but she played the game too hard and got Banished due to her volume of enemies.
Dan and Janelle would have loved coming across Will outside the Scottish castle, but maybe they will see him at the reunion show.
Who is Dr. Will Kirby from The Traitors 2?
Will recently took to social media to tease his appearance on The Traitors 2.

Alan Cumming is opening up about Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and the sequel that Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow are soon to pitch to the studios.
In 1997, Cumming starred in the comedy film as Sandy Frink, the unpopular geek who has a crush on Kudrow’s Michele and turns into a successful businessman after inventing a special kind of rubber.
Sorvino recently revealed that a sequel to the Robin Schiff-created film is in the works. Amid the Television Critics Association winter press to promote The Traitors, Deadline asked Cumming for his thoughts on the long-awaited sequel.
“Yes, it seems like it’s finally… they’re doing deals and there’s no script yet,” he told us. “There’s no script yet but it seems like it’s actually … an ongoing situation rather than not.”
