On The Rookie Season 2 Episode 17, Officer Nolan got thrown into the deep end with an undercover assignment and managing his criminal informant.
Only one of those things turned out to be a success.
One of Nolan's greatest strengths, his empathy, can also be a weakness, or at least an added obstacle. That sense of empathy allowed him to encourage Bianca to get clean and get a job.
Unfortunately, it also made it easy for her to get too attached.
Junkies aren't generally emotionally stable to begin with, so Bianca forming an unhealthy attachment to Nolan shouldn't have been a surprise.
But this was Nolan's first C.I., so it was all unchartered territory for him.
The upside was that Sgt. Grey understood what Nolan was dealing with and went out of his way to be supportive.

CBS’ S.W.A.T. is teasing subtraction by addition, with the casting of TV vet Bailey Chase.
An alum of series such as Longmire and Saving Grace, Chase is set to recur during the back half of Season 3 as Owen, a well-connected former Army Ranger who is in the process of launching a high-end security firm, our sister site Deadline reports. In that pursuit, he will court Deacon (played by Jay Harrington) — who is seemingly forever-cash strapped (what now, the gutters need replacing??), and whose family has had more than their fill of S.W.A.T.-related drama — to join his firm.

Exclusive: Longmire and Saving Grace alum Bailey Chase is set for a recurring role on CBS’ hit drama series S.W.A.T. He also has signed with Buchwald for representation. Inspired by the classic television series and feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as the locally born and raised sergeant tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Chase will play Owen, an ex-Army Ranger who is in the process of launching a high-end private security firm. He is well-connected and fully-invested and hoping Deacon (Jay Harrington), who is an active S.W.A.T. Sergeant and decorated Police Star recipient, will agree to be part of the team. Chase recently recurred on USA’s Queen of the South, Fox’s 24: Legacy, NBC’s Chicago P.D. and Showtime’s Twin Peaks: The Return, and he appeared on the big screen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Here’s the trailer for Walk. Ride. Rodeo., the true story being told by Netflix of Amberley Snyder, a nationally ranked barrel racer who was in a life-changing accident when her vehicle was flipped and she became paralyzed from the waist down.
She was wheelchair bound, but did not let that hold her back from her passion, and was able to retrain herself to ride horses again. It’s an incredible story that is akin to the story of Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm to a shark while surfing and was able to get back on her board and ride the waves again. I guess when you have that much talent and determination, and a love for what you do, nothing can stop you!
Spencer Locke (Resident Evil: Extinction & Afterlife) stars as Amberley Snyder, with a supporting cast that includes Missi Pyle, Bailey Chase (24: Legacy), and Sherri Shepherd.

"Rodeo isn't something I 'do', it's really – it's who I am." Netflix has debuted the first official trailer for an inspirational indie drama titled Walk. Ride. Rodeo., based on a true story about a young barrel racer who keeps racing despite a bad accident. The film tells the incredible true story of Amberley Snyder, a nationally ranked rodeo barrel racer who defies the odds after barely surviving a car accident that leaves her paralyzed from the waist down. Spencer Locke stars Amberley, with a full cast including Missi Pyle, Bailey Chase, Sherri Shepherd, Max Ehrich, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Raleigh Cain, and Barbara Alyn Woods. Looking at Bailey Chase you might get the impression that he’s big, he’s tough, and therefore doesn’t do a lot other than stand there and, well, look big and tough while saying only a few words. While the former is true he does in fact speak and he does it very well. In fact if you ever watch him on anything he does he’s not always the most eloquent person but he doesn’t have to be since his looks speak for him at times when his words don’t, or aren’t meant to, do the trick. Back in January, one of the things Patrick Bromley and I discussed on our episode of Horrigins was that there were a lot of amazing short films out there, but it can be hard for fans to keep up with all of the content that gets released over time. With that in mind, this writer thought it would be fun to turn the spotlight onto the short format horrors on the internet once a month with our new column, Daily Dead Salutes Your Shorts.
For this first installment, we have a terror-filled trio of short films, including Feeding Time from Matt Mercer (which was an official selection of Screamfest 2016), Jacob Johnston’s Kadence, and Furocious, by the directorial duo of Zachary Eglinton and Brandon Walz. So, sit back and enjoy some bite sized horror-fied treats, and be sure to check back next month for more great short films right here on Daily Dead!

And now we finally get to the best one of all. The true peak of Buffy. The Season where it truly was at its finest hour.
After a shaky Season Four, Buffy returned in style for its fifth season, constructing 22 episodes full of strong characters, a brilliant arc, heartbreaking moments and some of the best hours that the show ever produced. Whilst all the previous Seasons of Buffy had numerous good qualities, it’s fifth just seemed to have everything. From the intense, gripping story-arc of Season Two, to the consistently brilliant episodes of Season Three, to the superb stand-alone hours of Season Four, Season Five is an example of a show at full throttle. It’s brimming with confidence, it knows exactly where it’s taking the story – and explores new routes for our characters that we didn’t even think we’d see.
So, what makes Season Five so great?...

Need to catch up? Check out last week’s Lethal Weapon recap here.
In a recurring bit sprinkled throughout this week’s Lethal Weapon, Murtaugh and Riggs bicker about how best to describe their partnership. Are they surf and turf? Ham and pineapple? Chips and salsa? Tango and Cash? Starsky and Hutch?
Likewise, I spend a lot of the hour wondering the best way to describe this odd show to people who haven’t seen it. Action with heart? Comedy with action? Completely unbelievable stunts interspersed among fun-but-forgettable police cases? One man’s desperate cry for help flecked with one-liners...

Cast your mind back to October of 2014, a time when the largely dormant Twin Peaks fanbase was sent into a collective tailspin upon hearing news that the cult classic would return via limited series.
Fast forward five months and change and the abrupt departure of series creator David Lynch threatened to throw a spanner in the works, after the prestigious filmmaker bowed out of the small-screen revival citing “complications.” That all came to a head in the weeks thereafter and, thankfully, Lynch was back on board.
Whether said complication proved to be a storm in a tea cup is something we’ll likely never know, but the one thing we do know for sure is that Twin Peaks is coming back in 2017 and, according to Ray Wise, is being aligned for a summer premiere over at Showtime.

Questions may have loomed over Showtime’s new season of Twin Peaks from the get-go, but the network has at least offered up a status report for those longtime fans itching for the show’s return: details of the full, 217-member cast.

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.
The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.
in the meantime in more official news, Showtime, Lynch and Mark Frost has released the official cast list for the new series with a whopping 217 names across the various episodes - a list that includes some real surprise big name inclusions such as Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Vedder, Ashley Judd, Ernie Hudson, Jim Belushi, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern,...
