With production set to begin in the coming weeks, casting is kicking into high gear for Matthew Vaughn's comic book adaption The Secret Service. Colin Firth and Taron Eggerton have already being cast in the lead roles, as the James Bond-esque Jack Lincoln and the young punk he takes under his wing respectively, and now Variety are reporting Samuel L. Jackson will squaring off against them as the movies villain, reportedly beating Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise to the role. Those who read the comic, written by Mark Millar with art by Watchmen's Dave Gibbons, will notice that the villain there, Valentine, was decidedly different from Jackson, being a young, nerdy, and white, electronics genius. Admittedly, anything to do with the villains plan in the book, apart from his kidnapping of stars and directors from various famous sci-fi franchises, was weak, so hopefully Vaughn swicthing up the role should help that,...
