- Bernhard Kaun was an American film score composer and orchestrator, primarily active from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. He is primarily remembered by horror fans for composing the score of the gothic horror film "Frankenstein" (1931). - American-born film composer of German ancestry. Began his career as a conductor at the Alhambra Theatre in his native Milwaukee. From 1930, he worked in Hollywood for Universal, Warner Brothers and Paramount (often on horror films) as orchestrator and composer of scores and incidental music.
