Meanwhile, at the public hearing, John denies dealing drugs, but Sam has openly declared that he robs drug dealers. This will affect Joey’s dealings, which will, in turn, affect Ezra’s business. Also, Detective Mooney has confessed that it was Crellan who killed Nasa Kalouri. Missouri’s Republican-controlled House of Representatives doesn’t seem too concerned about minors openly carrying guns in public without adult supervision, as the legislative body on Wednesday voted down an amendment banning it.

“Cult classic” is a term that gets thrown around quite a bit nowadays. There are even films that purposefully hope to earn that title as if there’s some formula to attain the status. But true cult classic films are created with the best intentions and through the sheer will of the fans, they become something greater than anyone could ever imagine. The 1986 BMX film, “Rad,” is one of those films.

Real estate developer Hackman Capital is planning to spend $1.25 billion to overhaul the nearly 70-year-old West Hollywood landmark CBS Television City including adding sound stages to supply the seemingly boundless demand.
The world’s first purpose-built television studio was built in 1952 and has expanded in a patchwork over the years. Hackman acquired the iconic 25-acre property for $750 million in 2019. CBS’ The Late Late Show With James Corden, The Price Is Right and The Young and the Restless are recorded at Television City as well as Dancing With the Stars, American Idol and Real Time With Bill Maher.
The project — which Hackman calls Tvc 2050 — will add up to 1.13 million square feet of new space and is designed “to address the needs of a modern studio and promote innovation and sustainability in production and operations,” the firm said Friday. It calls for nearly doubling the number of sound stages to 15 from 8 and adding new production support facilities,...

As someone who has been a huge fan of Talia Shire’s work for decades now, this writer was absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with her recently in support of the recent restoration of Hal Needham’s Rad, which celebrated the BMX Bike craze that was all the rage during the 1980s.
For Shire, the project has always been a family affair; her late husband Jack Schwartzman produced Rad, and her son Robert has been the driving force behind the film finding a new life after nearly 35 years now. Rad was recently released by Vinegar Syndrome in 4K Ultra HD and on Blu-ray, and it’s also headed to AltaVOD on Friday, July 10th, with a subsequent On Demand Release on July 24th.

"Okay, dudes, let's walk this sucker!" Utopia & Altavod have released a new trailer for the 4K restoration of 80s cult classic Rad. This was originally released in March of 1986 during the BMX bike craze, and it's one of those cheesy-but-awesome 80s sports movies for-teens about an outcast who tries to beat everyone else in the big competition. Rad has since gone on to become a beloved cult classic, not only because it has a killer soundtrack and impressive stunts, but because it so perfectly captures the vibe of the 80s. And it's one of the only BMX movies ever made that treats the sport with respect. Starring Bill Allen, Talia Shire, and Bart Conner. The movie even has an Instagram and Facebook for those who are just catching up with it now 34 years later. If you've heard plenty about this, but never seen it yet, now is the perfect time to ride with Rad.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn said today that the state has been asked for a variance to its shutdown orders that would allow a speed-up in reopening local businesses. If approved, that could see restaurants and retailers free to open their establishments with safety protocols in place, possibly as soon as this weekend.
A press conference by county health officials is set for Friday. Some news reports indicate the conference may allow restaurant dine-in service as soon as this weekend. Others have indicated a July 4 date is likely for reopening dining rooms in restaurants and retail establishments that have been limited to curbside delivery. Malls would also be allowed to open.
Earlier this month, Supervisor Kathryn Barger said during a meeting of the county’s Economic Resiliency Task Force that July 4 had been targeted.

Rad
Directed by Hal Needham
Written by Sam Bernard and Geoffrey Edwards
1986, USA
It’s going to take a lot more than skill for Cru Jones to conquer the toughest BMX challenge in the world. It’s going to take a miracle.
Rad, made three years after Nicole Kidman’s BMX Bandits, remains the most popular BMX film to date; which isn’t saying much since there have only been a handful of BMX films ever made. A product of the 80′s, Rad seems more interested in ramping up as much product placement as it could squeeze in, than in character development or plot – but longtime Stuntman-turned-director Hal Needham (Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run) does the best he can with the script given to him. In fact, Rad fits so well into Needham’s oeuvre that it’s no wonder he offers a stunning opening 8 minute BMX montage and...
