Summer is around the corner, but it's a selection of mainly slower songs that are currently playing nonstop for People music critic Chuck Arnold. Feeling a little nostalgic, he's been opting for some old-school Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross and Hall and Oates. But when it comes to the newer stuff, tracks by Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, London Grammar and Dierks Bentley are on regular rotation. Check out nine essential songs to have on repeat right now: 1. Cyndi Lauper - "Money Changes Everything" The opener of her classic debut, She's So Unusual, still struts and stomps on the new 30th-anniversary reissue. 2. Dierks Bentley...

But lately, all that attention-getting hasn't translated to chart-topping hits. In the latest issue of People, music critic Chuck Arnold takes a look at how the pop star has gone off course - and what she can learn from Beyoncé.If Lady Gaga really lives for the applause, then she must be worried. It's a somber week for Lady Gaga - and her Little Monsters. Following Tuesday's Facebook announcement that she was "devastated and sad" because she couldn't walk and had to postpone several Born This Way Ball concerts, the pop star, 26, has officially canceled the remaining dates of her world tour. "After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip," the singer's rep told People Wednesday in a statement. "She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover.

Something old (like Michael Jackson's "Human Nature") and something new Taylor Swift's "Safe & Sound") are all sharing space on People Music Editor Chuck Arnold's playlist. Check out what he has to say about the songs - and click the playlist to hear them on Spotify! "Get Right" by Jennifer Lopez I'm not loving the new J.Lo single "Dance Again," but this James Brown-sampling Jam from '05 - the funkiest thing she's ever done - is still righteous. "This Time" by Melanie Fiona This banger kicks off The Mf Life - the stellar second set from this...

Now that we're just hours away from music's biggest night, People critic Chuck Arnold shares who he's rooting for in the biggest races: Album Of The YEARBeyoncé - I Am . . . Sasha Fierce **The Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies)Dave Matthews Band - Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux KingLady Gaga - The FameTaylor Swift - FearlessWithout three discs that should have made the cut - U2's No Line on the Horizon, Maxwell's BLACKsummers'night and Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown - there's no clear choice. Who will score big when the nominations for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards are announced Wednesday night? People music critic Chuck Arnold predicts the frontrunners - and outside contenders - in the Big Four categories. Album of the Year There's no clear front-runner for this year's big prize, but it's always hard to bet against U2 - which is why I'm tapping No Line on the Horizon even though it was not as big as 2004's Grammy-winning How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. It's also pretty hard to deny Taylor Swift with the mega-selling Fearless and her recent sweep at the CMAs.
