Taking acting lessons from age 12, he made his professional stage debut at age 14 in a small role in a production of "Othello" at the Hartford Stage Company.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and raised in Connecticut.
Won Los Angeles Drama Logue Award 1981 for Outstanding Performance as "Lee" in The South Coast Repertory Theater production of "True West".
Won Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award 1973 for Supporting Actor as "Camille" in The Company of Angels production of "A Flea in Her Ear".
Currently resides Fort Collins, Colorado {May 2019}.
Graduated University of Southern California School of Theatre. Among classmates were Bob Quinn.
