A fully restored 30-minute film of The Beatles’ famous Shea Stadium concert on August 15 1965 will accompany the theatrical release of Ron Howard’s authorised documentary, The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years.
Apple Corps Ltd., White Horse Pictures and Imagine Entertainment produced the documentary, which Richard Abramowitz’s Abramorama will release theatrically on September 15, and unveiled a new trailer this week.
The film marks the first acquisition for presenting partner Hulu’s Hulu Documentary Films arm, which begins exclusive streaming on September 17. However the bonus concert documentary will only appear in theatres.
Studiocanal and PolyGram Entertainment are anchor partners on the film and hold rights in the UK, France, Germany and Australia and New Zealand rights.

Top brass at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival presented by At&T have announced selections in the Us Narrative, International Narrative and Documentary Competition strands.
The films comprise 55 out of 110 features that will play during the 15th edition of the New York festival from April 13-24. The festival will present features films in the Spotlight, Midnight, and Special Sections on March 8.
Also included in Wednesday’s announcement are the out-of-competition Viewpoints titles.
The world premiere of Bill Ross and Turner Ross’ Contemporary Color will open the World Documentary competition on April 14, while the world premiere of Kicks by Justin Tipping will open the Us Narrative competition.

New York, NY – The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the nation’s oldest and largest organization of independent filmmakers announced today the nominees for the Gotham Independent Film Awards™. Signaling the kick-off to the film awards season, IFP’s Gotham Independent Film Awards™ nominations were given to a total of 26 films across six competitive categories for Best Feature, Best Documentary, Breakthrough Director, Breakthrough Actor, Best Ensemble Performance, and Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You.
