Jut-jawed, light-haired American juvenile actor of the 1930s, including
his best known film, All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), but whose career dwindled for the most
part into smaller roles and bit parts in "B" pictures by adulthood.
During World War II, served in the U.S. Army as Second Lieutenant, stationed at the 73rd Evacuation Hospital and at the The Radio Section of the Special Service Division.
Educated at Los Angeles Harvard Military School.
Served on the board of Motion Picture and Television Fund.
