Texas-based Americana power couple Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis will usher in the summer with the release of Beautiful Lie, their fourth album as a duo. Out June 21st on Robison’s the Next Waltz label, it’s the pair’s follow-up to the 2014 collaboration Our Year. The album’s first single “Nobody’s Perfect,” written by Robison, will be released May 10th, and a week later the two will embark on a joint tour which runs through August.

On Sunday night, Ricky Skaggs, Dottie West and Johnny Gimble were welcomed as the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum at the 2018 Medallion Ceremony, held in the museum’s Cma Theater. Garth Brooks presented bluegrass stalwart Skaggs with the Hall’s Modern Era honor. Connie Smith inducted late fiddle great Gimble in the Hall’s Recording and/or Touring Musician category. And Brenda Lee led a tribute to her late friend, Grammy-winning classic country turned pop-crossover star Dottie West, who received the Hall’s Veteran Era honor.

Frontières International Co-Production Market continued to showcase its growth at Fantasia International Film Festival as it kicked off its eighth edition on Thursday [July 21].
Earlier this year, the genre market announced a new partnership with the Marché du Film at Cannes, and the popularity of its pitching session at Fantasia meant that it moved to the festival’s bigger venue to accommodate the growing industry interest.
This edition’s 20 projects also saw the market’s remit expand to include two television projects for the first time.
House Of Psychotic Women from Rook Films, behind the likes of Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers and Peter Strickland’s The Duke Of Burgundy, is based on horror critic Kier-La Janisse’s acclaimed memoir.
