Banks was a voice-over regular on the popular 1930s radio series
"Gangbusters" that featured weekly episodes based actual crime
incidents. Each program ended with various descriptions of wanted
criminals, many of whom were later arrested due to avid listener
participation. She married fellow "Gangbuster" voice-over actor
Frank Lovejoy.
Between 1974 and 1980, she appeared in 33 episodes of the "CBS Radio
Mystery Theater."
Banks used her married name professionally after her marriage to Frank Lovejoy. After his death, she married Allan Raymond Johnson, was Chairman of the Board of Saks Fifth Avenue.
