Back in the day, there were lots of reports about people who thought The Office was real. Presumably tonight, there were lots of people who thought Meet The Police Commissioner was a spoof. It was not.
Yes, everything about this documentary - following Kent's first elected police and crime commissioner Ann Barnes - was bonafide, even if it felt like W1A a good chunk of the time... and it made us grateful that we're not followed by a cheeky camera crew. Read on for the most spoofesque moments of the documentary...
1. The onion of policing.
Who doesn't love a flip chart? Ann had one with circles within circles drawn on it, and explained: "These are all the various things, different kinds of policing in Kent, and these are the different kinds of policing priorities in terms of priority." But when she was asked to name a crime that would be on the outermost ring,...

Meet the Police Commissioner: Channel 4, 9pm
Channel 4's Cutting Edge team explore the world of Ann Barnes, Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent in an unguarded documentary.

This is not The Thick of It. This is not The Office. This is not W1A. This is all entirely real.
Channel 4's new documentary Meet The Police Commissioner - following Kent's police commissioner Ann Barnes as she goes about her job - might not sound like riveting television. But as these clips show, it's well worth a watch... if only for the fact that you can boggle that this isn't actually a spoof.
From unhappy citizens suggesting that they'll take matters into their own hands...
...to Ann attempting to understand a report (and offering advice on how it could be made shorter)...
...to her rather unusual phrase after hearing some bad news...
... we think Meet The Police Commissioner is going to be a must-see programme. We should have known it would be special when we heard about Ann's "presidential-style camper van Ann Force One".

Channel 4 has announced details of a new social experiment dating series.
Married at First Sight will feature six single people matched into couples using scientific and sociological data.
The newly-created couples will then get legally married, after meeting for the first time at their own weddings.
Developed from a Danish series of the same name, the participants will be chosen from a group of over 200 people.
Each person will be matched by a panel of experts in psychology, psychotherapy, social and evolutionary anthropology and theology.
Cameras will then follow the couples for the first six weeks of their relationship, in order to find whether science can genuinely find people 'the one'.
At the end of the filming period, the three couples will then decide whether to stay together or end their relationship.
Meanwhile, Channel 4 has also commissioned a three-part documentary series titled Dementiaville, which follows a new approach...
