Barron had two stints as The Hollywood Reporter editor under owner-publisher Tichi Wilkerson, first from 1964-68 and then again in the late '70s. In addition he served as news director for Billboard Publications' five magazines from 1968-72, his journalism career spanning 70 years.
An agent signed Frank Baron and Ray Brenner, teamed as comedy writers, wrote for radio shows, Red Skelton, Edgar Bergen, Duffy's Tavern, Fibber McGee & Molly and Martin & Lewis.
