As far as investigators go, Jim Rockford (James Garner) is a bit of a departure from the mostly-polished (Columbo excepted) detectives of television's first decade. A slouchily dressed detective who lived in a trailer and served time in San Quentin, Rockford was cool — if not always collected. "The Rockford Files" ran for six seasons on NBC beginning in 1974 and was later resurrected for a series of '90s TV movies. In that time, audiences were introduced not only to Rockford, but to a cast of supporting characters including his truck driver dad Rocky (Noah Beery Jr.), LAPD pal Becker (Joe Santos), and the con artist Angel (Stuart Margolin).
Garner passed away in 2014, and only a few "Rockford Files" castmates are still with us today. Those who are still around include notable recurring guest stars like famously mustachioed "Blue Bloods" star Tom Selleck, Egot-winning multi-hyphenate Rita Moreno, and "Happy Gilmore" director...

Greg Lee, co-lead singer of the California ska band Hepcat, has died at 53 years old.
His partner Amanda Becker revealed the news in a social media post, writing that Lee had suffered a “massive brain aneurysm and cardiac arrest” at their home in Paramount, California on Sunday (March 17th) before passing away in the hospital on Tuesday.
“I found him on the floor unconscious and not breathing,” Becker recalled. “I immediately called for 911 and the first responders were through the door within moments. They were able to regain his pulse, but he was not able to breathe on his own. He has been on life support in the Nicu ever since and has not regained consciousness. The neurologist let us know his case is very rare and that the moment was swift. He did not suffer.”

Holger Rune has announced that he is extending his arrangement with the Mouratoglou Academy.
The Danish No. 1 has created headlines off the court in recent months. In October, he hired six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker as his coach, and their partnership continues for the upcoming season.
In addition, Rune added a former coach of Roger Federer's to his team. That man was Severin Luthi, who was a part of the Swiss legend's team for 15 years, from 2007 to 2022.
Rune also practiced recently with the returning Rafael Nadal. The 20-year-old was complimentary of the Spaniard's level, and thinks he can challenge for big trophies. The Grand Slam quarterfinalist will hope he can do the same.
One collaboration that did end before the changes Rune made was having Patrick Mouratoglou as his coach. Serena Williams' former coach held that position with the Dane for 12 months.
That partnership ended after the US Open.

Holger Rune has been forced to hire a temporary coach following confirmation that Boris Becker and Severin Luthin will not make it to Australia in the opening week of 2024.
Rune tied Becker to a long-term contract after a successful stint as an interim coach last autumn when he parted ways with Patrick Mouratoglou. The young Dane went the extra mile to keep up with the growing list of tennis players working with two coaches.
Rune brought on board one of Roger Federer's former coaches, Severin Luthi, to work in tandem with Becker and help him compete for top honors in 2024. The coaching alliance with such a gaudy duo is expected to tap into Rune's real potential.
However, both Becker and Luthi won't travel with Rune for the first tournament of 2024 in Brisbane, where the 20-year-old is the top seed in a star-studded field featuring 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal...

After a dominant 2023, Novak Djokovic has sprung into his step going into the new year, where he will look to repeat what he achieved during a record-setting season.
Last season, the race for the world's No. 1 ranking was mainly centered around Djokovic and Alcaraz, who exchanged that position no fewer than seven times before the 36-year-old sealed the deal at the Atp Finals in Turin.
But there is no shortage of challengers for the Serbian ace, and as many as five players will look to pounce should Djokovic stumble. And the perspicacious 24-time Grand Slam champion will need every kilojoule to fend off the challenge. So, who are those players?

Carlos Alcaraz didn't have an excellent second half of the 2023 Atp season, and many wondered whether his hype was oversold.
Truthfully and respectfully, it was not. The Big Three was never the norm for tennis, and Carlos Alcaraz's trajectory looked more like the Big Three than anything else. That tells you everything you need to know, but let's add a bit of glazing to the cake.
He's the youngest number one ever; he's a two-time Grand Slam champion, one of which came at Wimbledon, a major played on grass, a surface on which he's far from being a specialist.
He also bested Novak Djokovic in the final, becoming the first man in a decade to beat him on the Centre Court of Wimbledon. So, he certainly is not overhyped. The problem in the second half was a combination of injuries and an inability to find his best tennis.

Holger Rune has announced that one of Roger Federer's ex-coaches has been added to his team for the new season.
The Danish star already generated attention this year when six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker became his coach. Becker, who has made headlines recently with a war of words with Nick Kyrgios, will continue to coach Rune in 2024.
Adding someone of Severin Luthi's stature to work with Becker and the rest of Rune's team is an unexpected but exciting announcement for last year's Paris Masters champion.
Few other players can match the experience Rune now has in his camp. Luthi was a member of Federer's coaching team for 15 years. This was from 2007 until the Swiss legend's retirement from the sport in 2022, with Luthi becoming one of Federer's most trusted confidants on the Atp Tour.
Luthi was on Federer's coaching team for 11 of the 20 Grand Slams that the tennis legend won.

Nick Kyrgios is trying to back his point in the recent days, after he said that former legends would struggle today on the Atp Tour.
Only around a week ago, the Australian said that former legends wouldn't thrive in current days, saying the likes of Novak Djokovic would dominate against Pete Sampras.
As an example, Kyrgios used the speed of the first serve that players today reach, comparing it to slower serves in the past. However, one thing he forgot to consider is how much better equipment players have these days.
After his comments, Boris Becker responded swiftly, as he wasn't happy with the Australian's comments. It didn't take too long before Kyrgios responded, and since then, the two have exchanged quite a few messages on social media.
But now, another former world no. 1 joined the conversation. Two-time Grand Slam champion and Olympics gold medalist, Yevgeny Kafelnikov used a similar argument to Becker,...

Nick Kyrgios doesn't owe anybody anything, according to himself, as he dismissed Boris Becker's claims about owing his position to those who came before him.
For the past few days, Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker have been trading blows on social media after initial comments by Kyrgios didn't sit well with Becker. To start, the Australian compared eras in an interview, claiming how today's players, to whom he belongs, are better than past legends.
One of the older players he mentioned was Becker, who would struggle in today's tennis per Kyrgios, which is likely true, but it's a very nuanced take that has the least amount to do with the talent of the legendary German.

Nick Kyrgios wasn't going to let Boris Becker's latest comment on him slide, which is why he responded on social media once more.
This year has been quite exciting in tennis, but nobody really thought that a clash between Kyrgios and Becker would happen. Well, it did, and it started when Kyrgios made some comments comparing eras in tennis and how today's players are better than those before.
Becker didn't take that kindly because he was one of the players Kyrgios named, and he responded to the Australian and then added more context in a recent Eurosport podcast. Kyrgios, of course, responded to Becker on social media once more.
Becker argued that players like himself allowed Kyrgios to live the way he does despite not playing for a full year. According to Becker, the former players elevated the sport to this level but Kyrgios wasn't having any of that.

Novak Djokovic has been utterly dominant this year, which shouldn't be happening, according to Boris Becker, who used to coach the 24-time Grand Slam champion years ago.
The legendary German player knows a thing or two about tennis, and he's certainly always been familiar with Novak Djokovic's skill set. He used to coach the Serbian with great success in the past so he's grown to appreciate him even more.
The Serbian improved a lot since Becker last coached, and it's what's so amazing about this whole thing. He won three out of four Grand Slams in 2023, and that shouldn't be happening at his age, according to Becker.
He spoke about Djokovic's continued dominance in the ' Das Gelbe vom Ball' podcast, discussing his dominance so late in his career.
You're not really meant to play tennis like that at the age of 36. When does the guy get tired, or when...

Boris Becker and Nick Kyrgios have been beefing on social media lately after the Australian commented about former tennis greats, including the German.
Kyrgios is an outspoken individual who doesn't particularly care whether you like that. He's going to tell you what he thinks, and he certainly did in a recent interview with the Athletic when he compared tennis eras.
While tennis stars are generally quite complimentary of past legends, Kyrgios dissed the legacy of Becker and others by implying that they would struggle today.
Obviously, the comments went viral, with some agreeing with him and some disagreeing with him. At face value, the quality of tennis today is probably greater than in the past as simply everything evolved.
There is better equipment, better training, and better nutrition today, so it's natural to assume that today's tennis players are superior to those in the past.
And yet, comparing eras doesn't work.

Boris Becker has signed the dotted line to take over as Holger Rune's full-time coach for the 2024 season after confirming an extension to their initial agreement.
Becker's confirmation comes just a couple of days from the official announcement by Rune's camp, which was done in writing by the Dane's mother, Aneke Rune. In her statement, Aneke was happy that they found a "good setup" through Becker's expertise for Holger to develop as a player.
The German great was initially assigned a temporary role in the team to cushion and salvage Rune's 2023 season following the dismissal of Patrick Mouratoglou as coach. Rune confirmed that his alliance with Becker was meant to last until the end of the season.
Becker's first main task at the helm was to turn around Rune's famine run of one win in 11 matches across all competitions, which he did at the first time of asking in Basel.

Becker's first main task at the helm was to turn around Rune's famine run of one win in 11 matches across all competitions, which he did at the first time of asking in Basel.

Holger Rune will retain the services of Boris Becker as his coach for the next season, with the pair coming to an agreement to extend their partnership.
Rune's mother, Aneke, who serves as his manager, revealed the announcement in writing to TV2 Sport, adding that both parties are satisfied to continue working together for the upcoming season.
In Becker, Aneke states that they've found a "good setup" that will enable Rune to develop as a player. The 20-year-old was grateful for the transformation he had undergone in just a few months taking guidance from the German great.
"We look forward to continuing the good work in the preseason and 2024 with our team, with whom we will also end the year. I am delighted that we have found a good setup where Holger is happy and can develop so that we can once again set goals and aim to win Grand Slams.

Boris Becker never thought he'd spend time in prison many years ago, but it happened and shifted his perspective forever.
Becker was once a highly respected individual, and while his reputation took a hit with the sentencing and prison time, the former German Atp player is still grateful for the experience.
It was a challenging experience for him, one which he spoke about often since coming out, but it also shifted his perspective. It allowed him to self-reflect, and here he is, rebuilding his reputation as a tennis person first and foremost.
He's coaching Holger Rune as of recently, and he's doing a pretty fine job. Rune credits him for pulling him out of a major slump, which helped him find himself in Turin. He talked about his experience in a recent interview with L'Equipe.
You are nobody in prison. You are just a number. Mine was A2923EV. I wasn't called Boris.

“The Graduates,” which counts Chloé Zhao and John Cho among its executive producers and gets its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival, revolves around school shooting survivors who are unable to move on even one year later. It’s a compelling subject, for sure, but one on which no dramatic treatments have been nearly as astute or profound as what’s already been in the news.
Genevieve (Mina Sundwall of Netflix’s “Lost in Space”), who lost her boyfriend in a shooting and owes her teacher several assignments, doubts her test score is sufficient to get her into college and contemplates taking a gap year post-graduation. Ben (Alex R. Hibbert of “Moonlight”), who lost his friend and coworker at his part-time job, has transferred and quit the basketball team before dropping out of high school entirely. Becker was representing the city of Cuiabá and Belini was representing the municipality of Várzea Grande. The pageant was for the LGBTQ community.
A statement was released by the event about the incident. They stated that they disapprove of Becker’s husband’s actions and emphasized that Belini was the winner of the pageant. Additionally, they declared that they plan of taking legal action against her husband in the future.

Carlos Alcaraz is already creating his tennis legacy as one of the greats according to Boris Becker.
Alcaraz has continued his sensational rise by recording a 29-2 match record for the 2023 season so far. In addition, the Spanish 20-year-old has won four Atp titles this season, including his most recent victory at the Madrid Open last week, when he beat Jan-Lennard Struff in the final.
Due to his meteoric rise in men's tennis, Alcaraz has received plaudits from some of the current and former tennis greats. Most recently, six-time Grand Slam winner Boris Becker heaped praise on Alcaraz and said he can surpass the likes of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic when speaking to the Eurosport Germany Das Gelbe vom Ball podcast.
"Carlos plays tennis very differently. What impresses me the most is his powerful style of play. When he hits his forehand with full topspin, there's no grass any more.

Alexander Zverev is not playing on the same level as he played exactly one year ago when he looked like a challenger in Paris.
The German has seen his level not being adequate compared to what the tennis community has seen from him in the past several years. He's in danger of losing the status of Germany's number-one player for the first time in seven years and it's all to do with his inability to gain top form recently.
There has only been one event where he looked okay and that has been Monte-Carlo. With Roland Garros looming, it doesn't look very promising for him. A bad outing in Paris could see his ranking slip even further. Becker watched him play in the Davis Cup a few months ago and he can see that Sascha is fit but he's not in a very good rhythm as he revealed in a talk with Eurosport.

Rafael Nadal will probably play at Roland Garros and while that seems to be clear, there is still a lot of worry about the shape in which he will arrive in Paris.
Tennis is a very hard game and while professionals won't ever forget how to play it, they certainly tend to lose momentum if they don't play for a very long time. Even the best ones need some time to get back to their best and it's harder the longer you miss.
Well, by the time Roland Garros comes along, Nadal will have missed over 5 months of play. He didn't play at the Madrid Open nor did he play at the Italian Open complicating an already complicated situation. It has a lot of people worried about his chances and one of those is former legend Boris Becker who exclusively spoke with Eurosport.

Again, Maggie's moral compass gets spun on a pair of similar abductions.
That's because she was offended by the two very different ways those two cases were handled on FBI Season 5 Episode 21.
A college student, who was also the daughter of a prominent senator, was abducted in a sketchy Brooklyn neighborhood.
Because of who Sen. David Becker was, everyone short of the Park Rangers got thrown into her disappearance.
It made sense that the FBI might believe the kidnapping targeted the outspoken leftist senator, who had made waves in a divided Washington.
But after the senator denied he'd made any severe enemies, they had to take another look at honor student Allison.
Unfortunately, the ex-cop turned Pi who had been tailing Allison proved to be a red herring, just someone looking to damage her father's reputation.
After the agents determined why Allison was in that section of the city regularly,...

In Alejandro González Iñárritu’s newest film, “Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths,” a documentarian (played by Daniel Giménez Cacho) travels to his home country of Mexico for a party in his honor and struggles with an existential crisis. For sound designer and supervisor Martin Hernandez, creating the soundscape of the film meant using audio to capture the slippery nature of memory.
“More than a mental journey, I think this is a state of mind, which is a quite different thing,” Hernandez told IndieWire Crafts and Animation Editor Bill Desowitz at IndieWire’s Consider This FYC Brunch. “A state of mind is something that lingers in your memory. It’s something that is in you a long time ago, and it transforms you. Alejandro has this idea that we are not exactly the ones in the picture of you when you were a kid. We’re different people now.
