Balding, moustachioed German character actor whose forte was playing pedantic or fussy types, usually bureaucrats, doctors, lawyers, bankers and so on. On the stage from 1938, Beiger spent many years at diverse theatres in Munich and in cabaret. He appeared in classical plays by Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde, as well as in operettas and musical comedy. A familiar face in films (from 1942) with numerous guest spots in popular TV shows, especially crime dramas ("Der Alte", "Percy Stuart", "Derrick", "Der Komissar", etc).
