2011 NFL football phenom Tim Tebow was recently traded from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets, so naturally what did he do when he got to New York City? Took in his first Broadway show, of course.
The quarterback joined the audience of "Wicked" Saturday night (March 24) about five minutes before showtime, reports the New York Daily News, so as not to disrupt the audience with his appearance. Afterwards, he went backstage to compliment the company.
"I heard good things about it ... it was really good," Tebow tells the Daily News.
"He liked my performance," says P.J. Benjamin, who plays the great and powerful Oz. "I hope I like his performance."
Chandra Lee Schwartz, who plays Glinda, adds that Tebow was "very sweet."
He certainly picked a good show for his first trip to Broadway. We're glad he enjoyed himself.
