Well, that was one predictable conclusion.
The final fate was reached for criminologist Josh Folsom on CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 3.
Unsurprisingly, Josh is still working for the Las Vegas crime lab.
That's no shock. Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights) is arguably the biggest name among the new cast members.
In a strike-shortened season, discarding such a character would make no sense, unless the actor involved has decided to bail out on the series.
So, it was evident that Folsom would come out the other side of the review board. The question to be determined was in what shape he would emerge.
Throughout this whole Jeannette storyline, Josh has been his own worst enemy.
Gone was the meticulous CSI admired by his teammates. In his place was a scared little boy from the wrong side of the tracks, standing up for his mother, who wouldn't help herself.

When Ocean’s Eleven was released in 2001, it featured a “who’s who”-type of ensemble cast that paid homage to the original Ocean’s 11, the 1960 movie that starred the infamous “Rat Pack” — Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. The remake featured George Clooney leading a group that included Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, and Julia Roberts. But while the concept of the all-star cast might have been similar, Clooney, speaking at the time of the film’s release, told us they weren’t trying to duplicate the Rat Pack by any means.(Click on the media bar below to hear George Clooney) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/George_Clooney_Oceans_Eleven.mp3 The Ocean’s trilogy is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and most digital platforms.

Having just arrived in Los Angeles, Prince Philip faced a covey of reporters with photographers snapping away. “You asked about my mission to America,” he said. “The Queen and I are dedicated to helping the underprivileged. Mind you, we realize that an underprivileged child in Los Angeles is one who doesn’t have his own swimming pool.”
This was a jaunty, relaxed Prince Philip, circa 1966, unworried about the social media (there weren’t any) as he made his rounds of Hollywood. Joining him for meals and visits to sets were Natalie Wood, Shirley MacLaine, Dick Van Dyke, Gregory Peck and Joey Bishop, who, observing the Prince’s chain of jokes, said, “He’s so funny, I may run for Prince.”
The tension-packed forays of William and Kate this week, with their dire media overtones, seemed in sharp contrast to the loose, pre-woke royal expeditions of the ‘60s. While there was...

Barbie and Ken are together again: Ryan Gosling is in talks to join Margot Robbie in the new "Ocean's Eleven" reboot, according to Deadline. Though we haven't actually seen the pair in Greta Gerwig's upcoming Mattel-inspired movie, I think everyone has seen enough endearingly campy candy-colored set photos by this point to already know this is a dream team.
Although 2018's "Ocean's Eight" seemed to open the door for the franchise to count a few installments higher, this project seems to be an unrelated reboot that's reportedly set in Europe in the 1960s, per Deadline. Jay Roach, who directed Robbie in the Fox News saga "Bombshell," is set to direct the new film, with Carrie Solomon writing the script. The project is still in the development stages.

Johnny Carson signed off as the host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show” on May 22, 1992 after being the King of Late Night for nearly three decades. But Carson has never left thanks to DVDs and repeats on such nostalgia channels as Antenna TV and streaming services like Peacock, as well as YouTube. And even with such late-night hosts as Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher, Trevor Noah, Jimmy Fallon, who is the current host of “The Tonight Show,” and Jimmy Kimmel, none of them hold a candle to Carson.
While I was working at the Los Angeles Times, I talked to experts, filmmakers and even his nephew about what made Carson so unique.
“The thing about Carson is that he had all the exemplary skills needed for a late-night host,” Ron Simon, curator of the Paley Center for Media in New York. “Everyone that has followed has skills, but they don’t have every skill.

“The Rat Pack? Hasn’t that topic been done to death?”
That is the question I was asked by some skeptical fellow writers when I mentioned I was working with author Lon Davis on Deconstructing the Rat Pack, our new book, published by Prestige Cinema Press.
It’s true: there have been a stack of books on the myth that surrounds Rat Pack members Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop, and Peter Lawford. But the fact is, myths are what have most often been printed. It reminds me of the line in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance: “When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” Lon and I subscribe to a different belief: print the facts. PR reports of the time will lead one to believe that the Rat Pack came about organically, that their...

MGM has launched development on a Sammy Davis Jr. biopic with Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani producing through their Hillman Grad banner, along with Sight Unseen’s Julia Lebedev and Eddie Vaisman.
The untitled project is based on the 1996 biography “Sammy Davis Jr.: My Father,” written by Davis’ daughter Tracey Davis and Dolores A. Barclay. David Matthews is writing the script.

A miniseries on legendary crooner Sammy Davis Jr. is in the works from Lee Daniels Entertainment and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone production banners.
The project, titled “Sammy,” is in its early stages, but its producers are considering basing it off Wil Haygood’s 2003 book “In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis Jr.”
Playtone has several Emmy-winning miniseries to its credit, including “Band Of Brothers,” “The Pacific,” “John Adams” and “Olive Kitteridge.”

Exclusive: Lee Daniels and his Lee Daniels Entertainment have teamed with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone to develop a miniseries about dancer-singer-actor-musician Sammy Davis Jr., I have learned.
The project, titled Sammy, is still in preliminary stages, but I hear the producers are circling the 2003 book In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis, Jr. by Wil Haygood as source material.
For Lee, bringing Davis’ story to the screen has been a longtime passion; in 2013 there were reports about him eyeing a movie about the former Rat Pack-er that was in the works at HBO.
Meanwhile, Playtone brings in a strong track record with a slew of Emmy-winning miniseries including Band Of Brothers, The Pacific, John Adams and Olive Kitteridge.

One of the splashier WW2 combat sagas adapts Norman Mailer’s respected book but ends up a bona fide mess. Aldo Ray, Cliff Robertson and Raymond Massey flail about in a compromised screen story, augmented with side-dish appearances by sultry Barbara Nichols and — even though she’s allowed to contribute almost nothing — famous ecdysiast Lili St. Cyr. Let the search for outtakes begin.

The Sammy David Jr. biopic is set up at Paramount Pictures and it will be produced by Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. According to Deadline, the project is on the fast track and they are in the process of hiring a writer and director to take on the life of the iconic entertainer who could do it all.
The movie will be based on the 1965 memoir Yes I Can: The Story of Sammy Davis, Jr. that he penned with Jane and Burt Boyar. Davis’ heirs are also joining a producing team, which will also include Lionel Richie.
Apparently, Richie was the key to getting all the right deals done to be able to bring Davis’ story to the big screen. In a statement, he said:
“I cannot tell you how excited I am about the signing of the Sammy Davis Jr. project with Paramount. I knew and loved Sammy dearly.

The 21st century trilogy featured Clooney and Brad Pitt leading a new gang of criminals...

Who'd want to be James Corden? The new host of CBS' "The Late Late Show," who takes over the slot vacated by Craig Ferguson, has an unenviable task. Not only does the British comic have to introduce himself to American audiences, he also has to succeed where nearly everyone else who's tried has failed, in the hyper-competitive arena of late-night talk.
For all the late-night talk shows launched over the past 60 years, only a tiny handful of hosts have found any success. Many shows vanished without a trace, despite having talented and funny hosts who had succeeded elsewhere.. Does anyone remember that Craig Kilborn hosted "The Daily Show" before Jon Stewart and "The Late Late Show" before Craig Ferguson? Does anyone remember Whoopi Goldberg's show, or Roseanne's, or Joy Behar's, or Zach Galifianakis's? Others do have an impact, but it's the disastrous impact of an asteroid hurtling into the earth.

Las Vegas…the hotbed haven where dreams of high rollers are realized among the glitzy bright lights, the element of chance and luck and the adrenaline for instant fortune. But there is a deception to Sin City that is overlooked–the isolation of a gambler’s anxiety and desperation, the false sense of confidence at the craps table and the swinging doors of the psychological lows more so than the rewarding highs.
Still, Las Vegas has its excitable aura–both innocence and guilt–where one arrives to skillfully manufacture their financial profile or go bust. In some instances, the hedonistic expectations are defined in other fun, precarious ways. It is no wonder that Hollywood has come calling to put its distinctive spin on the capital city of adult entertainment. For decades, the movies have made Las Vegas its backdrop for wonderment, degradation, intrigue, comical curiosity and soul-searching revelations.
