Twin Peak's Lucy Brennan talks to Dr. Garth Twa about The Return, Lynch and her dog Zeke.
Kimmy Robertson was indelible as Lucy, the receptionist at the Twin Peaks Sheriff Station. In Twin Peaks, The Return Lucy is still at her desk, and her romantic problems have settled down some and she is married—as seemed inevitable—to Deputy Andy Brennan. She was, in many ways, the nexus of pretty much all of the characters and events, having probably shared scenes with nearly every other actor…
Kimmy Robertson: Not everybody, no. Just about everybody who passed through the Sheriff’s station I did and everybody was there in that 17th hour of The Return. Seems like most of the people were in that conference room for that.
Garth Twa: Oh, the big climax of the new series!

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. It's James Hurley's (James Marshall) birthday and he wants a present. Not that he's demanding it—no, no. James is cool. He's always been cool. So in that affable way of his that can be equal parts endearing and insufferable, he asks his going-on-23-year-old coworker, Freddie Sykes (Jake Wardle)—a U.K. to U.S. transplant who, like James, is a security guard at the Great Northern Hotel—to explain why he's always wearing a green gardener's glove on his right hand. "Tell me the story," he says to Freddie. The young man obliges the birthday boy with a captivating tale ("you ain't gonna believe me anyway," he prefaces) of a man in the sky called The Fireman, who told him to buy the glove,...

You never know how and when Twin Peaks will push you to the brink of tears – all you know is that it will. Perhaps it happened in this week's episode when FBI Director Gordon Cole recalled the last sighting of his old partner, Agent Philip Jeffries – played by David Bowie, shown alive and well 25 years ago in a clip from Fire Walk With Me. Maybe it was when Sarah Palmer staggered into a local bar for a drink, all but begging a loudmouth goon down the bar to leave her alone.

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. So that's how David Lynch does an info dump. First, with a cheeky, knowing scene featuring the brothers Horne: "Jerry, what's going on?" asks Ben (Richard Beymer) after his cannabis-infused sibling (David Patrick Kelly) phones him from the woods. "I think I'm high!…I don't know where I am!" Jerry screams, perhaps speaking for a good subsection of the Twin Peaks revival audience, who have, over the six prior installments, been given only glimpses of a larger picture. Narrative momentum comes in asides; the more prevalent longueurs are reserved for atmosphere and mood, for full immersion in apparent stasis.Part 7 shakes things up, following the brotherly freak-out with several story reveals that come in quick succession. But there's a niggling sense throughout all the...

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series.A man walks into a bar—after cursing out Gene Kelly (because most of the time we don't feel like singin' in the rain). The bar, by the way, is named "Max Von's," surely after Erich von Stroheim's rabidly devoted butler Max von Mayerling from Sunset Blvd (1950). Of his employer, silent-film diva Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson), Max once said, "Madame is the greatest star of them all." No more proper locale, then, for a star entrance: "Diane," says FBI forensics specialist Albert Rosenfield (Miguel Ferrer) to a platinum blond beauty nursing martini and cigarette. Around turns Diane Evans, the heretofore unseen confidante of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), and played (of course, how could there be any doubt?) by Laura Dern.

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. The world's gone mad. Fortunately for FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), he's been able to sit out most of the real-life insanity of the last 25 years. Unfortunately—as surely known by those viewers familiar with Mark Frost and David Lynch's singular television series Twin Peaks, which returned Sunday, May 21st for a limited, 18-episode run on Showtime—that's because he's been trapped in the unearthly purgatory known as the Black Lodge, all while his devilish doppelgänger, a mortal manifestation of the murderous spirit known as Killer Bob, runs amok among mankind.Already it feels like I'm speaking in tongues. But if Twin Peaks and Lynch (who directed, co-wrote, co-edited, and designed the sound for all of these new episodes) have taught us anything,...

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen Sunday's two-hour Twin Peaks premiere.
Twin Peaks returned to TV on Sunday after 27 years and it was every bit as scary, twisted and confusing as the original -- though we expected nothing less from David Lynch.
In the two-hour premiere, there were two distinct threads happening: one with the show's original characters and one featuring new faces and new mysteries. They eventually intersected, but for much of the first hour it was a lot of introducing seemingly unrelated things, most of which were happening outside the titular small Washington town.

A new promo spot has been released for David Lynch's Twin Peaks revival, and it actually features a good amount of footage from the upcoming series. Regardless, it's still wonderfully confusing and it gives us absolutely no information on the story. It's just a collection of brief clips with bits of dialogue scattered throughout. I definitely dig the eerie and mysterious vibe of the promo, and I'm intrigued. I can't wait to see more! The video came with the following info.
It is happening again with Deputy Andy Brennan (Harry Goaz), Lucy Moran (Kimmy Robertson), Shelly Johnson (Mädchen Amick), FBI Special Agent Albert Rosenfield (Miguel Ferrer), FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole (David Lynch), FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), and more.

You’ve heard of it, haven’t you? The Golden Age of Television? While the original era can be traced back to the 1950s, many believe that such high-ranking, lucrative series in the vein of Mad Men, Breaking Bad and HBO’s fantasy flagship Game of Thrones have helped define a new generation of top-tier television where the amount of original scripted drama is so rich and diverse that, at times, it’s almost difficult to keep up.
But before men were mad – before thrones played games; before bad was broken; before the dead walked – there was another cult TV series that went on to amass a huge following, and its name is Twin Peaks.
For two seasons, Mark Frost and David Lynch’s eerie procedural captured the imagination of sci-fi fans, but dwindling ratings meant the show was abruptly pulled off the airwaves in 1991. In those intervening years, both...

It is happening again, and ahead of the show’s long-anticipated return on May 21st, Showtime has rolled out yet another Twin Peaks teaser to whet your appetite.
But if Monday’s nostalgic promo left us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside after presenting a quick tour of three primary locations in the Double R Diner, Laura Palmer’s house, and the instantly recognizable sheriff’s department, today’s 50-second snippet is more concerned with the characters populating the titular, eerie town. That means you’ll be able to check in on such larger-than-life personas as Big Ed Hurley (Everett McGill), Carl Rodd (Harry Dean Stanton), Sarah Palmer (Grace Zabriskie), Deputy Andy Brennan (Harry Goaz), Deputy Tommy “Hawk” Hill (Michael Horse), and, of course, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), who remains one of the show’s primary characters.

The late, great David Bowie made my list of 11 major omissions from that massive 217-name cast list for Showtime's forthcoming Twin Peaks revival, and -- adding insult to injury -- it turns out the Thin White Duke almost reprised his role as disappearing FBI agent Philip Jeffries from prequel film Fire Walk With Me before dying of cancer earlier this year. That news was spilled by cast member Harry Goaz (reprising his role as Deputy Andy Brennan) in a new interview with the Dallas Morning News: Goaz says David Bowie, who had a small role in the 1992 film spinoff Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, was set to return to make a cameo, but it didn’t happen before the musician’s death this year. This will no doubt come as fairly crushing news for Bowie fans and especially for Twin Peaks fans, particularly given that Jeffries' bizarre appearance in...

I stopped posting rumors about Showtime's "Twin Peaks" revival back in September after creators Mark Frost and David Lynch pleaded with the internet to #KeeptheMysteryAlive, but here's a fun tidbit for fans in the meantime: a series of four Japanese coffee commercials directed by Lynch, released two years after the end of the series and one year after the release of the polarizing prequel film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" (which was, apparently, a big hit in Japan). The advertisements, recently unearthed by Open Culture, depict Kyle MacLachlan's coffee-loving FBI agent Dale Cooper tracking down a missing Japanese woman in the quirky Washington town; cameo appearances include cast members Madchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran), Harry Goaz (Andy Brennan), Michael Horse (Deputy Hawk) and the late Catherine E. Coulson (Log Lady). As a result, I am now craving a can of creamy, refreshing Georgia Coffee and...

2015 has been a great year for fans of the remarkable, award-winning drama series, Twin Peaks. Not only was it announced that the show’s creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, would be delivering a brand new limited season on Showtime, but that deal was then extended to include even more Twin Peaks, after the production deal seemed to hit a roadblock.
Now, the network will be airing as many as 18 episodes, with a large number of original cast members confirmed as returning. And, to sweeten the deal even more, they’ll be joined by Amanda Seyfried (Pan, Lovelace), in a role described as “pivotal.”

America's Dad, né Robert Saget, is finally doing what he's probably always wanted to do — or at least pretending to do what he's always wanted to do. Yep, you guessed it: Bob Saget will be playing a porn producer on Law & Order: Los Angeles. So far, Saget has signed on for only one episode as pornographer Andrew Brennan. Hopefully Brennan won't be doing anything too illegal, or at least illegal enough to land him in prison and thereby limit his role on the show, because it'd be cool to see Saget have a steady gig on L&O: La. We shouldn't let all this Saget go to waste, [...]...

This isn't the Danny Tanner we came to know and love.
Bob Saget, who shot to fame with his likable dad image in 'Full House' and hosting duties with 'America's Funniest Home Videos,' has done his best to remake his image as a more raunchy comedian since those shows ended. This should help: he's set to guest star as a porn producer on 'Law & Order: La.'
TV Squad reports that Saget has signed on for one episode on the struggling crime drama, citing a source close to the show. He'll play a porn producer named Andrew Brennan.
The show stars Alfred Molina, who will be moving back from District Attorney to hardboiled detective.
Saget, who blogs for the Huffington Post, currently stars in the A&E series 'Strange Days with Bob Saget,' which he wrote about here.

However, this isn't Saget's first time in the 'Law & Order' pool. In 2006, the 'Full House' actor appeared as Glenn Charles in an episode of 'Law & Order: Svu.'

With his hilarious Tintin quiff and bald patch combo, dimwittedness and sensitivity, Deputy Andy Brennan was the soft arm of the law in Twin Peaks and quickly became one of the most endearing characters in the murky town. Amid the brutal murders, drugs smuggling and evil spirits, Andy proved to be a regular source of quirky humour that often counterbalanced the invasive darkness of the show. Who can forget his sperm donor mishap at the police station, where he dropped the sample and scrambled around on the floor trying to retrieve it while his fellow officers looked on in bemusement? Genius. Andy's cute puppy dog eyes and soft voice meant that the squeaky-voiced secretary Lucy fell for him, and the couple's flirtations and secretive encounters were highly amusing. But it was far from plain sailing, as Lucy succumbed to the sleazy charms of debonair department store owner (more)...
