- Tom Browne was born on November 11, 1945 in Lymington, Hampshire, England, UK. He is an actor, known for Emmerdale Farm (1972), The Prior Commitment (1969) and The Vampire Lovers (1970).
- Also a disc jockey, with Danish radio from 1965-1972, and with BBC Radio 1 from 1972-1978.
- Tom Browne performed in many theatre productions including, The Winslow Boy with Richard Todd, Elisabeth Sellars, Patrick Barr, Ian Masters, David Wilkinson which toured the UK in 1971 and then a season at the Theatre Royal Brighton with A Christmas Carol with all of the above plus veteran actor Mervyn Johns.
- Tom took over from Alan Freeman's 'Pick Of The Pops' on a Sunday afternoon on Radio 1 and presented 'Solid Gold Sixty' from 1st October 1972 and it ran from 4 till 7. In March 1974 the format was reworked to a one hour long Top Twenty show and Tom stayed with it as presented until March 1978 when he handed over to Simon Bates.
