The FanGirlTastic offices are abuzz this morning with the news that badass actress Carla Gugino will star as a badass cop in a hopefully badass adaptation of author Lisa Gardner's best-selling suspense thriller, Hide. Well, perhaps it's not the whole office that's abuzz. Maybe it's just me. But, trust me, I'm excited enough for everyone.
In Hide, part of a new weekly TNT series of dramas based on true-crime tales and fictional mysteries, Gugino's tough Boston Police Detective D.D. Warren is on the case when the mummified bodies of six missing women are found in an abandoned mental institution. Things get complicated when all clues point to a murderer who seems to have risen from the dead.
Hide, written by Janet Brownell and directed by John Gray, is one of six contemporary crime flicks made for the TNT Tuesday Night Mystery franchise set to air in November. It's...

It looks like Andy Richter will be stepping from behind the podium on Conan to another podium (I am guessing) for a new game show on TBS entitled Pyramid. The show is reportedly a modern-day take on the iconic game show that began asThe $10,000 Pyramid.
I really enjoye watching Men of A Certain Age, and highly recommend it. The new shows don't really catch my interest yet, aside from Pyramid. Check out the full lineup below and share your thoughts on what shows you are most interested in seeing.

Lifetime Movie Network is making a "Cinderella Pact," greenlighting an original movie toplined by "Without a Trace" star Poppy Montgomery.
Based on Sarah Strohmeyer's novel "The Cinderella Pact," "Cinderella" centers on Nola Devlin, a frumpy, overworked and underappreciated magazine editor whose alter ego, Belinda Apple, is the magazine's "reclusive" but sexy advice columnist.
Things get complicated when one of Belinda's columns on weight loss inspires Nola's overworked and overweight friends to band together and create a "Cinderella pact," vowing to lose pounds by following the advice of their "fairy godmother," Belinda.
When her secret identity is threatened, Nola is forced to join the pact, but as the weight comes off, Nola's problems mount.
Barbara Lieberman ("Murder in the Hamptons") executive produces the movie, slated to premiere in February. Nancey Silvers and Janet Brownell adapted the book for the small screen.

Billy Campbell and Michelle Trachtenberg have been tapped to star in an ABC Family original movie tentatively titled The Circuit.

The movie is from von Zerneck/Sertner Films, with the company's Frank von Zerneck and Robert M. Sertner executive producing alongside William Gilmore and Charles Lenhoff. Peter Werner Will direct and serve as co-executive producer, with Randy Sutter producing.
Circuit was written by Bill Hanley, with rewrites by Quinton Peeplescq and Janet Brownell.
Campbell's credits include The 4400, The O.C. and Once and Again. He is repped by CAA and Sean Fay at 1 Management.
Trachtenberg's credits include Six Feet Under and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She is repped by CAA, manager Peg Donegan at Framework and attorney Ira Schreck.

LONDON -- British director Nigel Cole has taken the helm of a feature adaptation based on classic children's character Eloise, the first project planned from the new-look HandMade Films stable, the company said Monday.
Cole will direct "Eloise in Paris" from a Janet Brownell and Erin Joslyn script adapted from the children's book of the same name, written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hilary Knight.
The live-action film is scheduled to shoot this year on location in Paris, New York and London for release in spring 2008. HandMade Films International, a new division responsible for the global sales, distribution and marketing of new HandMade productions, will handle worldwide sales.
The film will be produced by Patrick Meehan and Thomas D. Adelman, whose credits include two previous "Eloise" telefilms for the Wonderful World of Disney series.
HandMade, the newly invigorated, long-dormant production label founded by late ex-Beatle George Harrison in the 1970s, acquired film, television, music and merchandising rights to all "Eloise"-titled properties in 2002.
