We’re learning more about the upcoming sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale.
The final chapter of the Emmy-winning Hulu series originally was to begin production in 2023 for a fall 2024 premiere, but that schedule, of course, was delayed by the strikes. In an interview with Deadline, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich, who oversees content for Hulu Originals, said the sixth season now is set to begin production this summer for premiere in 2025. The series was renewed for its sixth and final season in September 2022, just ahead of its Season 5 premiere.
Season 5 follows June (Elisabeth Moss) in the aftermath of Commander Waterford’s (Joseph Fiennes) murder and the consequences she must face for her role in the gruesome slaying. At a minimum, she will have to face off with his widow Serena (Yvonne Strahovski), and on some level Gilead. But mainly, she will be forced to redefine her identity and purpose,...

Giancarlo Esposito is returning to AMC, the home of his Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, in Parish, a thriller set in New Orleans.
Esposito, himself a gearhead, stars as Gracian “Gray” Parish, a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in The Big Easy.
Speaking at AMC’s TCA press tour, Esposito said New Orleans is a “city of demons”.
“It’s a city that has a majority of churches, more than any other city in America. It’s a city with bars on every corner, where you can party until four in the morning. It seems like a place where you have to make a choice and our show’s a lot about the choices that Gracian Parish makes, whether they be good choices or bad choices and how they affect his family,” he said. “It was so much about the family and community, not only the city,...

Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” has unveiled first look images.
The series is a reimagining of the 2005 film starring Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie as Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith, respectively. In this iteration, Donald Glover (“The Martian”) stars as John Smith, while Maya Erskine (“PEN15”) stars as Jane Smith.
This new version features John and Jane both landing jobs working for an international spy agency where they must pose as spouses Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith. As they navigate a new mission each week, they find themselves falling in love with one another, complicating — and compromising — their “strictly business” relationship. Notably, this version features an intentional sham marriage between two strangers, as compared to the 2005 original, in which Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith were married without being aware of each other’s identity as an assassin.
Glover serves as co-creator and executive producer, along with Francesca Sloane...

“Brother” had 13 nominations heading into Thursday night’s film celebrations and triumphed in 12 categories — including best motion picture. Clement Virgo also picked up wins for directing and adapted screenplay, while Lamar Johnson won for performance in a leading role and Aaron Pierre won for performance in a supporting role.
The film is based on David Chariandy’s prize-winning novel of the same name and made its world debut this past September at the Toronto International Film Festival. “Brother” revolves around the sons of Caribbean immigrants as they come of age during Toronto’s 1990s hip-hop scene.

In Brandon Cronenberg‘s newest film, Infinity Pool, viewers follow American tourists James (Alexander Skarsgard) and Em Foster (Mia Goth) as they search for legal loopholes to get them out of a murder case, but end up going in way over their heads.
At the Sundance Film Festival premiere, Amanda Brugel talked to uInterview about what it was like working with Skarsgard.
In the exclusive interview, Brugel said, “With Alex, I will say his dedication to getting into moments. There’s a couple of moments where he really had to come undone and Alex’s preparation before the cameras were rolling, Alex’s dedication to what he had to do to specific scenes.”
Infinity Pool is now available in select theaters.

Infinity Pool is a movie written and directed by Brandon Cronenberg starring Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth and Cleopatra Coleman.
You may hate it or love it, but this movie was created from an extreme and risky gamble.
Knowing where this director comes from and feeds on a tradition of risks… everything is under control.
This is a movie that knows how to penétrate into the most fascinating morbidity and fall into the excesses of grotesqueness.
Storyline
Some tourists are on vacation in an island paradise called Tolga (fictitious). They meet another couple, and accidentally run over a native of the island, which sends them into an inner nightmare.
Movie Review Infinity Pool (2023)
I already told you: You will love it or hate it. And you will even have reasons to do both at the same time, this is what is great about this movie. At times it is fascinating, grotesque...

"You know, James? You worry they got the wrong man." Neon has revealed the first trailer for Infinity Pool, the latest film from David Cronenberg's filmmaker son Brandon Cronenberg, following his cult favorites Antiviral and Possessor before this. It was just announced as a big premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January, playing in the Midnight section. This sounds like it's going to be extra messed up and crazy. Sundance's description states: "James and Em are enjoying an all-inclusive beach vacation when a fatal accident exposes the resort's perverse subculture of hedonistic tourism, reckless violence, and surreal horrors." Starring Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth, Cleopatra Coleman, Thomas Kretschmann, Amanda Brugel, and John Ralston. Oh shit this looks extra crazy!! It gets extra dark in the second half of this trailer. So they're making clones, but also have to sacrifice other people? Interesting, very interesting. ›››

Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale was a harrowing one for Gilead escapees taking refuge in an increasingly inhospitable Canada… which is why it seemed odd that one of the most vocal refugees had such little screen time.
Moira, played by series regular Samira Wiley, had little to do over the course of the season, despite being enmeshed in the effort to aid refugees in Toronto. She was often present in scenes at the house with June and Luke, and she accompanied June to Mayday’s outpost. But overall, Wiley was onscreen considerably less than in previous seasons of the Hulu drama.

Brandon Cronenberg, son of horror maven David Cronenberg and quickly becoming one of the most exciting voices in the genre, has an upcoming sci-fi thriller called "Infinity Pool," and it had to be re-edited in order to avoid an Nc-17 rating. The Nc-17 rating is typically reserved for the kind of adult films you'd find in the "back room" of a video store and is usually viewed as a death sentence for any film pursuing a theatrical release. Streaming changed the game, allowing films like "Blonde" to debut without the suggested edits for an R-rated theatrical release. Anyone familiar with Cronenberg's previous films like "Antiviral" and "Possessor" shouldn't be surprised "Infinity Pool" was slapped with the initial Nc-17 rating, because the man loves to explore deeply provocative themes of sex and death.
The production immediately filed an appeal with slight re-edits, and the film's original rating was voided in place of an R rating.

The Handmaid’s Tale cast and crew were out in force at the Toronto Film Festival on Thursday evening for the world premiere of the two first episodes of Season 5 ahead of their release on Hulu in the U.S. on September 14.
In a Q&a after the screening, creator Bruce Miller announced that a sixth and final season had been greenlit.
Miller was joined onstage by executive producer Warren Littlefield as well as lead actress Elisabeth Moss, who directs this season, and other key cast members Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, Bradley Whitford, O-t Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel and Sam Jaeger.
“It’s an honor to be showing it here in Toronto, where we shot the show,” said Moss, adding that Season 5 had been the hardest one to make so far due to its bigger scale and the challenge of shooting over the winter during the Covid pandemic.
