Actor Ken Hudson Campbell, known for his iconic role of Santa in the classic holiday movie Home Alone, was recently diagnosed with cancer and launched a GoFundMe to pay for the surgery.
Campbell, 61, who was diagnosed on October 27, is preparing for a lengthy surgery and recovery.
Last week, Campbell posted to Instagram to share his diagnosis and GoFundMe page, and told his followers, “Never thought I’d be posting this.”
On GoFundMe, Campbell’s daughter Michaela wrote, “We need the world’s help to save Ken,” and revealed, “A tumor had elusively grown on the bottom of his mouth and it began encroaching on his teeth.”
She explained, “On December 7th, he is scheduled for a 10-hour surgery, during which a large part of his jawbone will be removed, along with his lymph nodes, and part of his leg bone. Surgeons plan to reconstruct a new jaw for Ken from this leg bone,...

Ken Hudson Campbell, a prolific actor who is perhaps best remembered for playing Santa in the 1990 holiday hit Home Alone, is facing a battle with cancer. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Campbell with medical expenses, which includes an intense 10-hour surgery to remove part of his jaw bone and lymph nodes. This will be followed by a six-month recovery period and possible chemotherapy treatment. “On October 27th, 2023, Ken was diagnosed with cancer, a tumor had elusively grown on the bottom of his mouth and it began encroaching on his teeth,” the campaign page reads. “On December 7th, he is scheduled for a 10-hour surgery, during which a large part of his jawbone will be removed, along with his lymph nodes, and part of his leg bone,” the post continues. “Surgeons plan to reconstruct a new jaw for Ken from this leg bone, install it, and treat him with radiation.

Cunk on Earth is a BBC series directed by Christian Watt in which Philomena Cunk (played by Diane Morgan) asks questions which are sometimes uncomfortable, other times surrealistic and sometimes intelligent about inventions of Humanity and, how, centuries later, we have ended up the way we are today.
The screenplay has been written by Charlie Brooker among others, whom you are all familiar with (the guy from Black Mirror).
This is an interesting series that follows other batches of Cunk, which are a series that is a mix between educational series and entertainment that are ironic and atractive, above all, thanks to the presence of Diane Morgan who is just great with her British style that knows how to deliver this… irony.

Back in the 1990s, when loading up a game, I used to get a little flutter when I saw the Konami logo and heard the little jingle that went with it. I used to assume “I am in for a good time”. The opposite happens now, as I am pushing 40, seeing the Uncork’d Entertainment logo and hear the little clink of glasses. I think. Uh oh… Especially when the title is Digging to Death. It is not even a pun, and it does not make sense.

"Someone will ask questions..." Uncork'd Ent has released an official trailer for an indie horror-thriller film titled Digging to Death, from writer / director Michael P. Blevins. "This June, dig up the past." David Van Owen moves into a mysterious house and discovers a box buried in his backyard, filled with 3 million dollars and a fresh corpse. What does he decide to do next? David hides the money in the house, only to be stalked by the buried body... Starring Ford Austin, Tom Fitzpatrick, Rachel Alig, Ken Hudson Campbell, Richard Riehle, with Clint Jung, Sumeet Dang, and Bryan Dodds. Yeah, this isn't the most original idea, but that creepy old dead guy haunting him makes this look like something unique and, dare I say, kind of fun. Freaky and disturbing, but with some awkward fun tossed in. Why not? It's the horror genre after all. Here's the official US trailer (+ poster) for Michael P.

When an actor is accused of wrongdoing and the film or TV project is already under way — or even wrapped — sometimes directors and producers go back and reshoot their scenes with a recast replacement.
“All the Money in the World”
After Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct, director Ridley Scott went back into production on “All the Money in the World” and reshot all of the actor’s scenes, this time with Christopher Plummer playing billionaire J. Paul Getty. (Plummer received an Oscar nomination for the role.)
“Ordeal by Innocence”
BBC had already shot a new adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic with “Gossip Girl” alum Ed Westwick as the rough-around-the-edges son of a wealthy family. But after Westwick faced accusations of sexual misconduct, the network went back and re-shot the limited series with “Magic City” alum Christian Cooke recast in the role.

Chicago – Most animated films depicting the “family” often includes a parallel lesson about togetherness or some such domestic symbolism. In “Wonder Park,” the lesson is how the spark of imagination can keep a childhood alive. When that spark is temporarily dosed, the destination of the title also suffers.

The hero is a little girl, who has an interest in building things, which lights up her life through a made-up amusement park. Because the park is depicted in actuality as a parallel form, the conduit to its creation comes from the girl (and her Mom) and becomes spectacular as it is built. This is a nice bit of multi-universe, existing in the child’s mind, and an understandable way for kids to experience how thoughts become action. Although this type of “come to life” world has been done in films like the Toy Story series and “Inside Out,” the different...

The second frame of Disney-Marvel’s latest MCU installment, 'Captain Marvel,' is set to top the box office with an estimated $70 million.
The superhero film already pushed past the $200 million mark domestically after taking in $19 million on Friday for a total of about $215 million. It’s also generated $378 million overseas after jolting the domestic box office out of a slump that had seen it down 27% from last year.
“Captain Marvel’s” second weekend will mark the second-highest in March box office history with “Beauty and the Beast” having taken in $90 million in its second frame in 2017. “Captain Marvel’s” weekend take will mark a 54% drop from its debut.
Paramount’s animated adventure film “Wonder Park” should drop into second place with about $17 million from 3,838 North American locations, while CBS Films and Lionsgate’s “Five Feet Apart” is estimated to bring in about $13 million from 2,803 domestic sites for third place.

“Wonder Park,” an animated family film from Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies, earned $700,000 in its Thursday box office previews from 2,620 screens. It opens on approximately 3,800 screens this weekend.
Paramount is looking at an opening weekend between $10-$14 million for the children’s fantasy tale, but it is of course contending with “Captain Marvel” in what is expected to be an especially strong second weekend for the Marvel superhero film. “Wonder Park” is tracking similarly to Paramount’s “Sherlock Gnomes,” which opened in March last year to just $10.6 million on a $59 million budget.
“Captain Marvel” meanwhile grossed an additional $9.1 million domestically on Thursday, bringing its domestic total to $196.8 million. It also made an additional $16.1 million internationally on Thursday, bringing its overall global total to $575.5 million.

The Story of Wonder Park
Wonder Park tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a creative 8-year-old June (Brianna Denski) comes alive. One magical day, June is running through the woods to find her way home where she discovers an old rollercoaster car and climbs inside. She suddenly finds herself in Wonderland, an amusement park she had created in her mind and put aside. All of her rides and characters are brought to life but are falling into disarray without her. Aside from going to the movies (natch’) what’s very very high up on the lists of kids’ fun activities? Right at the ‘tippy-top” would probably be a visit to a big ole’ amusement park. Not the traveling carnivals that go from town to town and set up for a few days in an empty field or a parking lot. We’re talking the big permanent vacation destinations like your “several flags over…” or “something land or world” with the Griswold family running in slo-mo toward the front gate. And just what could make such an excursion even more fun, aside from a multi-day express pass or unlimited refreshment vouchers? What if that place was based on your own ideas, if you were the “Imagineer” thinking up the perfect coaster or ride? Well, as this new animated movie suggests, that would truly be a Wonder Park.
Actually, this place, in the film,...

The most notable thing about Paramount’s “Wonder Park” — a sugar-addled “My Neighbor Totoro” ripoff with a beautiful message and a hideous everything else — is that the movie seems to have been made without a director. That’s not an insult, it’s a fact: Behold what might be the only IMDb page where the writers get top billing.
Perhaps that’s a damning indictment of a production that never found its way. More likely, it’s an honest reflection of how most $100 million animated films are made these days; “Wonder Park” doesn’t feel like the result of a coherent artistic vision as much as it does the result of a Rube Goldbergian workflow so convoluted that it’s a miracle the finished product even cuts together. [Note: Director Dylan Brown was fired for “inappropriate conduct” in January 2018]. Like a rickety wooden roller-coaster with just enough momentum to pull off a vertical loop,...

If there’s one thing kids like, it’s amusement parks. If there’s two things, it’s amusement parks and animated movies. And if there’s three things, it’s amusement parks, animated movies and a surprisingly mature message about not letting debilitating mental health issues get in the way of your creativity. At least, that’s what can be gleaned from “Wonder Park,” a clumsy but amiable kids movie with a streak of sincerity that stretches further than the Wonder Park itself.
“Wonder Park” stars Brianna Denski as June, a young girl who spends her off hours — which seems to be most hours — concocting an elaborate, fictional amusement park with her mom, voiced by Jennifer Garner. Their creation, Wonder Park, is a gigantic feast for the senses, with amusingly stomach-churning rides that literally toss you across the park, or come to life underneath you and fly around magically.

Why is “Wonder Park” called “Wonder Park”? The heart of the new digitally animated feature, a co-production of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies, is set in a spectacular fantasy amusement park, with train tracks shaped like a giant octopus’ tentacles, that’s nestled in a pastoral sunlit forest vista that looks like it could be the setting for Shangri-La. As much as any theme park in existence, it seems designed to fulfill any and every child’s dream. The name of the place? Wonderland. It’s possible that “Wonderland,” as a movie title, was seen as some sort of potential infringement upon the Lewis Carroll estate. But whatever the reason, the phrase “wonder park” is never uttered in the film, and that creates a slightly dislocated feeling.
So does the rest of the movie. It’s one of those kiddie features in which you can sense, in every scene, how...

"You can create anything you imagine." Paramount Animation has released another full-length trailer for the animated adventure movie Wonder Park taking us to a magical amusement park called Wonderland. We've seen a teaser trailer and another official trailer before this, and it looks like a fun time even though I'm still not sure what the story is. Does she dream all of this up or is it real? This still seems like a mash-up of Zootopia and Tomorrowland (and RollerCoaster Tycoon), with everything being so imaginative, plus the talking animals. Brianna Denski voices June, and the primary cast includes Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, and Ken Hudson Campbell. I like the way they highlight the different rides at the end. This is going to be wild ride. Here's the third official trailer (+ poster) for Paramount Animation's Wonder Park, from YouTube...

Original IP in the animation space can be daunting, but Paramount has pulled it off before with the Oscar-winning hit Rango. Wonder Park, from Nickelodeon Movies, puts you in the front seat of the roller coaster car and other thrilling rides as we experience them via the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June who has an ambitious design for her own amusement park. The pic is written by duo Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec whose credits include Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and the Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, Brianna Denski and Ken Hudson Campbell are the voices here and the pic opens on March 15. Like Universal, which dropped their Big Game spot for Hobbs & Shaw on Friday, Paramount is releasing Wonder Park early today before its pre-game air-time.

“It’s time to open the park” – an announcement for Wonder Park that seems to bear repeating in this first official full-length trailer for the upcoming animated feature from Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies.

Brianna Denski voices June, and the primary cast includes Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, and Ken Hudson Campbell. This looks like a ton of fun, though I'm not sure about the infighting in the park, but the rest of it seems thoroughly entertaining. Paramount Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming animation, Wonder Park.
The trailer lacks to inform of us with any real information on the film. Missing any major dialogue, the 1 minute 44 trailer consists of swooping camera shots over a thematic score fails to unveil any of the story.
That’s not all that’s missing from the release; a list of the voice cast seems to have been omitted. It had previously been reported that the likes of Brianna Denski, Jennifer Garner, Ken Hudson Campbell, Kenan Thompson, Mila Kunis, John Oliver, Ken Jeong, Matthew Broderick, Kath Soucie, and Norbert Leo Butz would be making up the voice cast.
The screenplay is by Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec with a story by Robert Gordon and Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec. The film is produced by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Kendra Haaland Executive Producers Karen Rosenfelt and Don Hahn.

In the first teaser trailer for Paramount’s “Wonder Park,” a lost theme park springs back to life after being uncovered by a girl.
In the trailer, a young girl (voiced by Brianna Denski) walks into a forest which reveals a magical place beyond the trees. The theme park comes back to life, with all of its inhabitants, including bears, monkeys and pigs, reprising their roles in the park.
“Wonderland is now open!” the monkey says.

"Wonderland is now open!!" Paramount Animation has released the very first teaser trailer for their latest creation, an animated adventure movie titled Wonder Park taking us to a magical amusement park called Wonderland. There aren't many details released about the story, other than it involves a "wildly creative girl named June" who brings this amusement park to life, somehow. This seems like it's a mash-up of Zootopia and Tomorrowland, with the magic park and that world, plus all these talking animals. Brianna Denski voices June, and the primary cast includes Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, and Ken Hudson Campbell. I will admit that this looks very cool, but I'm still not sure what the plot even is. We'll know more soon, I'm sure. Enjoy. Here's the first teaser trailer for Paramount Animation's Wonder Park, direct from YouTube: A story of a girl,...

Tambor has been replaced in the film, which had previously been titled “Adventure Park,” by Ken Hudson Campbell, whose credits include “Armageddon,” “Groundhog Day” and “Home Alone.”

Annecy, France — Paramount Animation’s presentation of “Wonder Park” at the Annecy Festival packed a large interest. It was the first Annecy for DreamWorks Animation veteran Mireille Soria since she was appointed president of Paramount Animation by Jim Gianapaolos in July 2017. People were keen to know what she’d say about where she wanted to take the division.
Also, after several years absent from most international events, Spain animation made an impressive splash at March’s Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux. The big film missing there was Paramount Animation’s “Wonder Park,” whose animation vendor and co-producer – along with Nickelodeon Movies – was Madrid’s Ilion Animation Studios. Clips of “Wonder Park” and a song featured at cinema.con. But Annecy’s sneak peek promised a far deeper drill down.

Twenty-five years ago, Macaulay Culkin taught the world that a home invasion can result in physical comedy magic and family fun for all. Yes, Home Alone first opened in theaters on Nov. 16, 1990. Of course, Home Alone taught us other lessons too. For example, you can accidentally abandon your child without getting in trouble with Child Protective Services. We learned that a scary old man next door just might be a lonely guy who's handy with a snow shovel. And perhaps most important of all, Home Alone proved you can make a successful movie starring one child actor onscreen alone for...

Over the next few nights, children and adults all over the world will be upholding the great tradition of watching Christmas movies. Myself, I annually put a collection on the shelf near my TV and often get to just a couple by the time the holidays are over. That’s Ok though, overtime they all get their watch.
The man of the hour of course is that lovable jolly red-suited hero known as Santa Clause. He’s the star of countless of those movies you’re re-watching this week and while it’s hard to narrow down an all-time favorite, I thought I’d go ahead and list The Best Movie Santa Clauses. Do you have a suggestion of who has played the best and definitive Santa Claus from the movie world? Talk to us on Twitter and or Facebook.

It has just been announced that Re-Animator: The Musical will return for new performances in Hollywood this October with new performers and brand new songs:
““Re-Animator ™ the Musical” tells the story of Herbert West, a brilliant young medical student who has created a glowing green serum that can bring the dead back to life. What should be a medical breakthrough results in hideous monstrosities and ghastly consequences. “I guess he just wasn’t fresh enough,” is West’s constant refrain in his quest for fresh subjects. Graham Skipper, who won a Best New Performer Award at the New York Musical Theater Festival for his crowd-pleasing turn, returns as the demented young genius.
And operatic Jesse Merlin is back as Dr. Carl Hill who loses his head for Meg, the dean’s beautiful daughter, only to actually lose it at the hands of Herbert West. But thanks to the glowing re-agent,...

Nina Conti: Her Master’s Voice could have been one of the creepier documentaries ever made if placed in lesser hands than Nina Conti herself. It chronicles the deeply personal journey of Conti, a British ventriloquist, to an annual ventriloquism convention in Kentucky. Here she plans on laying to rest one of the six puppets she recently inherited from her deceased ex-lover, British theater impresario and puppet enthusiast Ken Campbell. Vent Haven is a museum in Kentucky designed for such a purpose; here, people can come and view the puppets whose masters are deceased, puppets who no longer have human voices given to them and instead sit in silence.

Prometheus (20th Century Fox) Ridley Scott’s quasi-prequel to his 1979 classic “Alien” has an intergalactic exploratory team (Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba) arriving on a uncharted planet, where they discover what appears to be a dormant alien spacecraft and what might be the first discovery of intelligent life outside of Earth. Of course, everything goes straight to hell before you can scream “Don’t touch that egg!” Sumptuous visuals and strong performances from the cast (not to mention a nearly-perfect first half) can’t compensate for gaping plot and logic holes that nearly sink the proceedings in the film’s protracted second half. Over the past little while, we've seen a couple of documentaries come along that shed light onto some intriguing avenues of the entertainment world, such as "Paul Williams: Still Alive," about the '70s personality/songwriter/multitasker, and "Being Elmo," which focused on the man behind one of the most lovable creations on "Sesame Street." And now, another look at unique performer will be making its way to viewers later this year.
Independent distributor Virgil Films & Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to the 2012 SXSW Film Festival SXGlobal Audience Award winner, "Her Master’s Voice." The unique film follows the British comedian/ventriloquist Nina Conti, who takes the bereaved puppets of her mentor and love Ken Campbell to the annual Vent Haven Convention in Kentucky. She gets to know her traveling partners along the way, and through them deconstructs both herself and her lost love in this ventriloquial docu-mocumentary requiem.

The ventriloquist on her life with dummies and the film that pays tribute to her mentor and former lover, the late Ken Campbell
So you're eating oatmeal in Austin, Texas, the morning after the premiere of your first film, Her Master's Voice, at South by Southwest. You look happy. Are you?
Well, I had six heart attacks before it started. With every new trailer I was like: that's not my film! But they seemed to like it. For the Q&A I brought along Monkey (1), so I just went into standup gig mode. Then afterwards I thought: that was my opportunity to be a serious director. For a long time I thought I could edit the whole thing myself. I went on a course for frontline journalists that taught you how to send back video from a war zone. I was the only ventriloquist.
Why do dummies get such bad press at the cinema?...

People have been walking out of the RSC's risqué new production of Marat/Sade. Are critics ever tempted to follow them? Guardian reviewers reveal the times they just couldn't take any more
Although the play is nearly 50 years old, Peter Weiss's Marat/Sade still has the power to shock. Around 30 people per night have walked out of the Royal Shakespeare Company's revival in Stratford-upon-Avon, disgusted by scenes including stun-gun torture and simulated sodomy by a sex toy, with one theatregoer describing it as "utter filth and depravity". In response to the row, Katy Brand tweeted about a version she once starred in: "Production ended with me on stage masturbating. Seems tame by RSC standards."
Critics, of course, are required to sit through whatever is thrown at them, be it shocking, preposterous, dreadful or dull. But have there ever been times when they left early? Here, Guardian reviewers reveal the...

In roles large and small, in theater and onscreen, Jim Broadbent is a masterful actor. Thanks to impeccable credentials—training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, rising up through Britain's National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and continuing to ply his craft from his days in Britain's repertory system through today—he is superb in every role he takes on.Imprinting his work with his characteristic mix of truthfulness and colorful details, whether appearing in period comedies or wrenching dramas, he can play an astonishing variety of characters. The kinetic manager in "Moulin Rouge!" and the devastated husband in "Iris" reflect only two of the many extremes of his work. The straight-and-narrow judge in "Vera Drake" gives smooth way to Bridget Jones' placidly patient dad. And Broadbent deftly leaps from portraying a star in Woody Allen's "Bullets Over Broadway" to playing the Duke of...

Pioneering director of theatre-in-the-round and musical shows in the Potteries
Once described by Simon Hoggart as the "furry caterpillar" because of his habitual woolly sweaters, Peter Cheeseman, who has died aged 78, offered a unique vision of the role of theatre in the community. He pioneered theatre-in-the-round and, as the artistic director of the Victoria theatre in Stoke-on-Trent and then the New Vic in Newcastle-under-Lyme, installed a vibrant, creative hothouse in the industrial sprawl of the Potteries.
English regional theatre in the late 1950s was still dominated by the Edwardian values of the West End, the star system and the cosy conventions of the French-windows farce. Peter's passionate commitment to breaking the fourth wall of the proscenium arch stage, and rooting a resident company of actors, writers, musicians and designers in the local community, was revolutionary. He became involved in 1961 with the Studio Theatre Company, founded by Stephen Joseph. Peter put...
