- Younger brother of José María Cano.

- In 1982, he joined his brother, José María Cano, and singer Ana Torroja in an alternative project called Mecano, the most important Spanish group in the eighties. When Mecano broke up, he concentrated on his solo career.
- Created the Sabera Foundation in 1999. Sabera dedicates its resources to the creation of safe shelter, health care, nutrition-based and self-employment programs for the women and children in Calcutta, India.
- His group with José María Cano and Ana Torroja released 8 albums: Mecano (1982), ¿Dónde está el país de las hadas? (1983), Ya viene el sol (1984), En concierto (1985), Entre el cielo y el suelo (1986), Lo último de Mecano (1986), Descanso Dominical (1988), Aidalai (1991)and Ana Jose Nacho (1998).
