Here are a bunch of little bites to satisfy your hunger for movie culture: What if Captain America had a reason to be suited with his own Iron Man type armor? Artist Abraão Segundo shows us with "Captain Iron" (via Geek Tyrant): John Carpenter made a music video for "Night," a track from his new album of music that's like scores for movies that don't exist (via Live for Films): And David Hasselhoff made a radical '80s style music video for his King Fury theme song, "True Survivor": Michael Douglas re-created the famous leg-crossing scene from Basic Instinct with help from The Late Late Show host James Corden: And I thought the Archie vs. The...

Reboots, videogame adaptations, and a few long awaited sequels are all due for release next year
Now that Fast & Furious 7 has formally opened summer blockbuster season 2015 up, it's time for us to take our traditional look at the big movies gracing multiplexes this time next year.
2016 is set to be a pivotal summer, too. There are big movies in both the DC and Marvel cinematic universes. Warner Bros is looking to launch the first of six King Arthur movies, whilst Universal may get cracking with its classic monster cinematic universe. And - yep - we may even get the world's first great film based on a videogame.
Summer blockbuster season 2016 stretches from March through to August, and here's what treats are lined up. Please note, we've gone with Us release dates, for the purposes of this feature, as that's where most of the films will debut first.

How did we get to the stage where trailer launches seem like bigger events than the movies they're promoting? Hype and buzz rule all, but that said we'll admit we still get a giddy thrill out of seeing a good trailer. The 2-minute promo has become an art form in itself, and in 2014 Hollywood went to town when it came to selling the biggest and best films.
Digital Spy looks at 10 of the best trailers of the year below...
10. Gone Girl
David Fincher knows how to put a trailer together, and the tease for his adaptation of Gone Girl used Richard Butler's rendition of 'She' to gloriously unsettling effect. On first glance this looks like a fairly routine disappearance thriller, but in keeping Rosamund Pike's Amy Dunne in the background there's a sense that maybe Fincher and author/screenwriter Gillian Flynn are holding something back.
9. Guardians of the Galaxy

Next year’s full to bursting with potentially brilliant geek films, so to help, here’s our pick of 25 must-see movies out in 2015…
Compiling a list of next year's most exciting films is extremely difficult. What do you put in? What do you leave out? Those are some of the questions we've had to ask ourselves as we drew up the long-list of our most anticipated films of 2015. In an attempt to limit the number of sequels which can fill up a list such as this, we've left out something like Fast & Furious 7, even though we're fairly sure it'll be a lot of fun. With but two significant exceptions, we've excluded some of the films we were looking forward to this year that have been delayed until the next, such as Kingsman: The Secret Service and Frankenstein.
What we're left with, we hope, is a fairly broad selection of action and comedy,...

Motion pictures that based upon video games are constantly announced, but few ever manage to materialize. And it's just as well, because those that actually end up happening are often disappointing to put it mildly. Though for better or worse, a live action adaptation of EA's Dead Space is still happening, contrary to what some might have believed.
According to Desturctoid, citing a report from Variety, the project has been in the works for at least three years now. Back in 2009, DJ Caruso was announced to be the director, but not much has happened after. Since then, several other properties that EA was shopping around Hollywood also failed to gain any traction, including Mass Effect, Army of Two, The Sims, Spore, and even Dante's Inferno.
As a result, EA intends to take a more active role in the movie making business. An example of this is the upcoming Need For Speed flick,...

The penultimate day of EW’s inaugural CapeTown Film Festival featured a Q&A with rock star of fantastical literature Neil Gaiman following a screening of Coraline, the animated adaptation of his 2002 book of the same name.
Gaiman, along with the film’s lead animator, Travis Knight, told the audience at the Egyptian Theatre about the difficulties of finding a studio to back Coraline, the film’s animation methods, and why scaring kids is a good thing. Read on for five things we learned from the discussion led by EW’s Geoff Boucher.
Coraline the movie was not an easy sell.

Early this week, Brad Bird confirmed, via an interview with Crave, what many had long assumed: despite "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" being the most successful entry in the franchise to date, the Pixar veteran will not be returning for another crack at the Tom Cruise-led spy series, saying that, "I think that one of the things that’s fun about the series is that they always pull in a different director and try to get a different kind of take on the premise."
With Paramount keen to get the balling rolling on the next entry after the $700 million success of 'Ghost Protocol' -- and hoping to avoid the five year gap between the last couple of movies -- it likely won't be long before the search for a helmer begins in earnest. Of course, Paramount may not have much say in the hiring of the director: Cruise has always led this series,...

It took a lot of begging and pleading from both producers and the public, but for whatever reason Johnny Depp saw it in his heart to return in one knockout scene in the new film version of "21 Jump Street," based on the hit Fox TV show that made him a star.
To put him in the ranks of some of the greatest movie cameos ever, we're counting down 35 surprise appearances in movies that pleased and shocked us -- and left us wanting more.
35. Jim Parsons, 'The Muppets' (2011)
Walter (Peter Linz) has to decide if he's "Man or Muppet," but during this solemn ballad he sees his human form in the mirror courtesy of the "Big Bang Theory" star. Release Date: July 29, 2011
The two genres of film I love the most are science-fiction and westerns. They both speak to my soul and provide fuel for my imagination. When I dream of fantastic adventures, it either involves me traveling through space to magnificent distant worlds or exploring the frontier of a new nation being forged right here on Earth. Combining the two genres into one glorious and entertaining package is like presenting me with the cinematic equivalent of a Reese's peanut butter cup. It would definitely explain why I love Firefly and its big screen sequel Serenity so dearly. But I love it when a movie crossbreeds genres like that. Among my favorite directors of all time are John Carpenter and Walter Hill, two great filmmakers who made their careers playing...

Green Lantern Is Looking Better And Better. But I Still Worry.I'm sure I'm not the only person who raised a red flag when word came of Ryan Reynolds being cast as Hal Jordan in Martin Campbell's upcoming film Green Lantern. For me, its not a question of whether or not Reynolds is a good actor, but if he's really acting at all. In most instances, it feels as if he's playing himself, yet he can be somewhat tolerable and in fact excels in the genre of comedy where humorous blank-faced reaction shots are his forte. The problem is, Reynolds doesn't seem capable of anything beyond those blank faced reaction shots. The more footage we see from the Warner Bros./DC Comic production of Green Lantern, the better its starting to look. I still remain skeptical but with each new bit of footage featuring Reynolds he's actually starting to...
