Seeing Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner get to make fun of my old pal Josh Horowitz one last time is reason enough for me to hope for some kind of weird spin-off movie one day, far off in the future. This can’t be the last time! But until that strange day comes to pass, we’ll instead wax nostalgic about the live stream that happened tonight, with a look back at the stars’ sweetest moments on the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 MTV First. In no particular order.
1) “The actual end end for me felt like the end,” Rob said seriously, before cracking himself up over the absurdity of that statement. Does he mean the last scene they shot? The last time they did Adr? Or the last scene in the movie? Who cares, as long as he keeps laughing like that (see above).
2) Which of them is most like his or her character?...

Former MTV journalist Larry Carroll - made famous for his early "Twilight Tuesday" segments, including the set visit with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart we all love so well - is hoping to make one last contribution to the Twilight fan community. Carroll has begun a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a Twilight Nation documentary highlighting the various ins and outs of the Twilight fan community over the years, which he will direct. Here's the pitch: Combining fan and celebrity interviews, archive footage, Twilighter-filmed gems, dramatic recreations, a musical scene and many other surprises, Twilight Nation serves as a keepsake for the millions of fans who love the franchise so dearly. While watching the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, viewers may have marveled at how beautiful and talented a performer Katy Perry is. What you may not have realized, however, is that it took a whole team to make her a Movie Awards sensation. And when we caught up with her on the red carpet, she was eager to thank everyone from her vocal team to her fiancé to ... Smurfette?
"We're directly in the sunlight, so I'm melting," Perry told MTV News on Sunday (June 6). "After this interview, I'm going to be a puddle," she joked. "I could still perform as a puddle," she added of her "California Gurls" performance.
Truth is, it's the audience that Katy turned to mush with her showstopping number alongside Snoop Dogg.

Universal City, California — Take a deep breath, sit down and get ready for some news that might make you angry, folks: Somebody out there in the world has seen "Eclipse" — and it's not you.
"I just saw it two days ago," a hot new film reviewer who simply bills himself as "The Fatch" told us Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. "To see that movie [was amazing]; it exceeded all my expectations."
Ok, in case you haven't figured it out yet, "The Fatch" is actually Peter Facinelli. And he saw the film because he has one key advantage over ordinary people like ourselves: He plays family patriarch Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the "Twilight" films.

Universal City, California — At this point in Taylor Lautner's young career, two things are clear: There is a hunger to see him in movies outside the "Twilight" franchise, and Hollywood is all-too-eager to give the fast-rising leading man work. Over the weekend, as Taylor worked the MTV Movie Awards crowd with his formidable charm and trademark smile, his next leading lady was eager to talk about the film they're about to shoot together.

Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is waiting for Bella in "Eclipse"
Have you had time to absorb it yet?
No, we don't mean the MTV Movie Awards kiss, the big dance or even Katy Perry and Snoop. We're talking about the exclusive "Eclipse" footage premiered at Sunday night's Movie Awards. It's your best look yet at the June 30 "Twilight Saga" film, and now we're here with a shot-by-shot analysis.
So watch the video, look at the screen grabs we've captured for you, and play along at home. Because there's only so many times you can stare longingly at your calendar and scream: "How much longer?!?"
Shot 1: A concerned Bella, walking hurriedly across the Forks High parking lot with Edward at her side.
Shot 2: A wet-haired Jacob looking back over his shoulder at them.

Twilighters love Rob Pattinson for many reasons, including his charm, his humility and his well-documented good looks. The guy is already on the cover of every magazine in your local supermarket, has T-shirts and dolls emblazoned with his face and spent Sunday once again dominating the MTV Movie Awards. So, could it all finally be going to his head?

Universal City, California — A long time ago, in a faraway land (Ok, maybe it was just Portland), the stars of the "Twilight" series were nobodies. Hopes weren't terribly high when that girl from "The Messengers," Mike Dexter from "Can't Hardly Wait" and the kid who died in the "Harry Potter" movies came together to shoot Stephenie Meyer's first novel.
But as the "Saga" stars dominated another MTV awards show this weekend, Robert Pattinson couldn't help but marvel at how far they've come.
"It's crazy," the spiky-haired superstar marveled at the MTV Movie Awards, looking back on simpler times. "For it to have accelerated so quickly."

Aziz Ansari

He's been a Human Giant, stolen scenes from folks like Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler, and waged a big battle with IMAX. Now, he's ready for prime time as host of the MTV Movie Awards. And if you don't already know the 411 on Aziz Ansari, well, you'd better keep reading.
When the 27-year-old funnyman landed the gig as host of the 2010 Movie Awards, his name started trending faster than a recently deceased Golden Girl. Everyone had questions about his background, and celeb buddies like Sarah Silverman, Kristen Bell and Diddy were happy to provide answers — even if we're pretty sure most of them were made up.
"One time, young Aziz got stuck under a TV," Diddy said of one of the formative moments in Aziz's youth.

It's been said (rather crassly) that the plotline of "Eclipse" boils down to a young woman's choice between bestiality and necrophilia. On June 30, "Twilight" fans all over the world will finally be able to feast their eyes on Bella's struggle to reconcile her feelings for monstrous Jacob and undead Edward. Those watching tonight's MTV Movie Awards, however, just received an exclusive sneak peek at her indecision — and now, the clip is here to appease your own ravenous, to-die-for appetite.

'We built upon the ending,' he says of post-production 'Iron Man 2' tweaks.
By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz
Jon Favreau
Photo: MTV News
Lots of movies have strong beginnings, then get bad fast. Other films can be mediocre most of the time, only to have the third act redeem them. It's an inarguable point that the endnote of a film is the most important part — and that's why film fans are somewhat obsessed with the pitch-perfect conclusions of flicks like "Citizen Kane," "The Sixth Sense" or "Se7en."
Now, after years of waiting, fans are about to finally feast their eyes on "Iron Man 2." And unlike many filmmakers, franchise director Jon Favreau is very confident in his final cut being the right one and insists that he never had any other ending in mind — although some minor tweaks did help make it just right.

'There are scenes that I like that don't fit into the movie,' Favreau says of the future DVD extras.

For decades, the stuff of Hollywood legend has been created by independently-minded directors and bottom-line-loving studio suits clashing over the final cut of a film. Sometimes, the studio is right ("28 Days Later" comes to mind), and sometimes the filmmaker needs to be left alone (see: "Brazil"), but these battles are more common than you'd think.
So it should come as no surprise that Marvel and "Iron Man 2" director Jon Favreau — got along splendidly?
"Yeah, yeah, there's another cut that I would have had that's, like, 50 minutes longer," the filmmaker teased sarcastically when asked if he had one of the increasingly popular "director's cut" versions that film fans see everywhere these days. "No, it doesn't work that way at Marvel.

Every great franchise deserves to be a trilogy — if not for the fans, then perhaps for the director who might appreciate a few extra hours to fully flesh out his tale. Nowadays, Jon Favreau is getting ready to unleash his second "Iron Man" movie on the world — and he readily admits that the idea of a trilogy appeals to him.
"It does. I would like to [do another film]," he explained, before admitting that the biggest obstacle may be one unlike any director before him has ever had to deal with: a backlog of superhero movies from his studio that will be twisting, changing and growing his characters with minimal input from Favreau over the next few years.

Hollywood — Recently the Internet went crazy with news that the world's most beloved fashion models — we're speaking, of course, about Derek Zoolander and his pal Hansel — were in trouble. After a 10-year absence from the big screen, word had come down that "Zoolander 2" had run into some financial trouble and might not get made.
If that's the case, someone might want to tell Justin Theroux — the filmmaker is hard at work on the "Zoolander" sequel script, and when we caught up with him recently he told us that the project was really, really, ridiculously good-looking.
" 'Zoolander 2' is up next," Theroux told us at the "Iron Man 2" premiere. "That's what I'm teeing up.

On Wednesday night (May 5), "American Idol" officially went Gaga.
"This is a woman who's dominating the charts and pushing the pop-culture envelope," Ryan Seacrest said in his gushing introduction of Lady Gaga.

Taking to the stage with a large ensemble of backup dancers in a pre-taped performance, Lady Gaga sang the newest single from The Fame Monster, a Spanish-influenced number called "Alejandro." Now, "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Erin Andrews is the latest to receive an apology and lightning-rod host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is the one making a mea culpa.

Brown said Haim had secured such pills as Valium and Soma through seven different doctors who were reportedly "duped." The report from Craig R. Harvey, Los Angeles chief coroner investigator & chief of operations,...

It's been rumored for quite awhile, but now it's official: Captain America has an onscreen nemesis, and it's the iconic character who has long served has his most powerful archenemy.
Hugo Weaving has been cast as Johann Schmidt — better known as the Red Skull — in next year's "Captain America: The First Avenger" movie. Marvel Studios confirmed the appointment in a press release Tuesday morning, touting the actor's genre-embracing efforts in such blockbusters as the "Matrix," "Lord of the Rings" and "Transformers" films.
For die-hard fans who've waited decades to see Cap on the big screen, official announcements like these bring a tantalizing sense of reality to the film's existence. It also helps when Marvel releases plot-revealing tidbits in their statements like this one: " 'Captain America: The First Avenger...

For years, Stephenie Meyer fans have been eagerly anticipating that golden moment when they can finally plop down at the theater, chow down on some popcorn and see "Eclipse" on the big screen. Now, for a lucky few, that moment will come sooner than expected.
The Los Angeles Film Festival announced Tuesday (May 4) that "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" will be one of the high-profile films on its slate. The bad news, however, is that the "World Premiere" is listed as a "Bonus by Invitation Screening," which means Twilighters will have to pull some serious strings to get into the show.
The L.A. fest runs June 17-27 and will feature more than 200 films from 40 countries. This year's festival...

Yeah, sure, "Iron Man 2" is probably gonna make a few bucks this weekend. But in the bigger picture, it's hard to argue that comic book fans aren't already looking past Tony Stark's latest adventure and instead focusing on what might be the most anticipated blockbuster of all time: "The Avengers."
By all accounts, we're at least a year away from shooting any film, and there's plenty of casting and script decisions yet to be made. But these days, there is one person who can't yet afford to look that far ahead: Jon Favreau.
"No I have not read that script," the "Iron Man" franchise director said of the recently filed, top-secret "Avengers" script, which is the most desired read in Hollywood at the moment.

In addition to being one of the most successful filmmakers of all time, Ridley Scott is a huge history buff. So it isn't a surprise that he's excited about the "Robin Hood" release on May 14. But one thing that might raise some eyebrows is what Sir Ridley has planned for the big-budget film.
"I hope it's a prequel," he said. "If you look at how we aligned it, we've set it up."
Without giving anything away, Scott's "Robin Hood" presents the most realistic portrayal of the mythical marauder while introducing the character much like "Batman Begins" did for the Dark Knight or "Casino Royale" did for James Bond. By the time the origin tale is finished, Robin...

Think back as recently as 2005 and you may remember a time when the names "Robert Downey Jr." and "Mickey Rourke" would bring to mind cautionary tales of actors with extraordinary talent who had destroyed themselves to the point where they were considered unemployable. Both were mired in a deep spiral of straight-to-video misfires and box-office bombs that boasted quickly-forgotten names like "They Crawl," "Friends and Lovers," "Stormbreaker" and "Game 6," and their addictions were earning far more headlines than their acting.
Now, a mere five years later, the '80s stars are headlining what might be the biggest film of the year. Marvel took a major chance when they hired Downey for "Iron Man" and Rourke for "Iron Man 2,...

As quickly as Tony Stark can build Iron Man suits of armor, it seems there are new enemies popping up to do battle with him. It's a plight the director of the "Iron Man" franchise can easily sympathize with, since every time Jon Favreau knocks down a rumor, another one seems to pop up.
Now, before the year's most anticipated sequel flies into theaters, we caught up with the actor/writer/director to get the superhero scoop on multiple issues. And the first of them was something so intriguing, so sexy and so out-of-left-field that it had to be bogus, right? Seriously, could Gwyneth Paltrow have nearly appeared in a scene where she was going to wear...

It is no accident one of the world's biggest movie stars, Robert Downey Jr., maintains that notation after his name. The "Iron Man" star is, of course his father's namesake. But fans may not know that the "Sr." Downey is a noted indie filmmaker. Once filming began on "Iron Man 2," the iconic director, Downey Jr. said, was never far from his mind.
"Well, sure, any time your dad is revered," the 45-year-old actor told MTV News. "I mean, I grew up with people saying, 'Hey, that's Bob Downey's kid' — and understandably so."
The actor's father has a backstory worthy of the big screen: He served in the Army, played minor-league baseball (striking out Yogi Berra in a game), held the title of Golden Gloves boxing champion and...

In a recent interview with MTV News, Brody echoed the sentiments of "Alien" filmmaker Ridley Scott, arguing that though "Avp" films may have put both franchises on the ropes, a return to roots can make things right.
"Everybody went into this with the intention of trying to make something that harkens back to the original," Brody said of "Predators," due July 9. Produced by Robert Rodriguez, the film co-stars Topher Grace, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo and Alice Braga. "[We wanted to bring back] the elements of suspense and withholding."

Beverly Hills, California — To some people, the mere existence of cinematic remakes, reboots and reimaginings is indisputable proof that we are bankrupt in new ideas. But if you're willing to take a closer look at films like this weekend's "A Nightmare on Elm Street," starring Jackie Earle Haley, there are some lessons to be learned.
In Platinum Dunes' loose retelling of Wes Craven's 1984 film that introduced Freddy Krueger to the world, one of cinema's most beloved serial killers has received an extreme makeover. Sure, the razor-blade glove, fedora and striped sweater are still there. But now, two aspects of Freddy's backstory that Craven largely sidestepped have been more fully and realistically addressed by filmmaker Samuel Bayer...
