What really happened during the 48 hours leading up to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy — at least according to mob bosses — is heading to the big screen in the upcoming film “November 1963: The Killing of a President.”
The mob’s version of events were passed down to Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana’s nephew, Nicholas Celozzi, by Sam’s brother, the late Joseph “Pepe” Giancana, who drove around with his brother Sam during those two days.
“The reason why there’s this fascination or anxiety is because people know that what they’ve heard so far doesn’t make sense,” Celozzi tells Variety of the ongoing interest in the circumstances surrounding JFK’s assassination, even 60 years later. “They keep talking about it because they’re waiting to hear something that makes more common sense.”

David Mamet is going to need more than a motorcade with the cast he has lined up for his upcoming JFK movie Assassination. Reports have come out that the film will star Al Pacino, John Travolta, Viggo Mortensen, Shia Labeouf, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Courtney Love. That’s one Academy Award winner, two Oscar nominees, a BAFTA winner, Mamet’s wife, and Courtney Love! (We kid–Love is a fantastic actress and was robbed of a nod for The People vs. Larry Flynt.)
As per Deadline, Assassination “will retell the fateful murder of John F. Kennedy from the mob’s point of view, reimagining his death as a hit ordered by Chicago mob kingpin Sam Giancana as payback for JFK’s attempt to undermine the mob after they helped get him elected.” The script is co-written by Mamet and Nicholas Celozzi, who is actually Giancana’s grandnephew, which should elevate the authenticity.

“I hear you paint White Houses.”
Writer-director David Mamet is bringing his next project to the Cannes Film Market this week, no doubt luring in international buyers with its stellar cast. “Assassination,” formerly known as “2 Days/1963” is a look at the JFK assassination from the point of view of the mafiosi who (allegedly) perpetrated the crime.
Al Pacino, Shia Labeouf, Courtney Love, John Travolta, and Rebecca Pigeon are currently attached, with Viggo Mortensen in the lead role. The screenplay was co-written by Nicholas Celozzi, whose great uncle was Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana. “Assassination” is apparently based on details shared directly by Giancana, who died in 1975.
Mamet’s last project was the 2013 HBO film “Phil Spector,” in which Pacino has starred. The cable film received five Emmy nominations, including writing, directing, and acting nods for Pacino and Helen Mirren. His last theatrically released feature was the Chiwetel Ejiofor-led mixed...

It’s been 15 years since Redbelt, the last theatrical feature from David Mamet, and time has not been kind to the writer-director. Like many in his generation, his mind has been fully Fox News-ified to the point where I had thought his 2008 feature might be his last film (not discounting his HBO outing in 2013) and his potential funding has dried up. That hasn’t been the case, however, as his next project has been announced ahead of production beginning this fall and it will be sold at the Cannes market.

Exclusive: David Mamet will direct 2 Days/1963, a drama scripted by Nicholas Celozzi that purports to tell how his great uncle, the notorious Chicago mobster Sam Giancana, arranged the assassination of President John F Kennedy as revenge for trying to bring down organized crime after the mob helped put JFK in the White House. Mamet, the twice Oscar-nominated scribe and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, will do a rewrite on Celozzi’s script. The film will be produced by Celozzi through his Monaco Films, with VP Michael Sportelli also producing. Bonnie Giancana, daughter of the late mobster, will be a consultant and executive producer.
The drama will focus on previously untold events that took place during the 48 hours before the assassination of America’s 35th president in November 1963. Some of Celozzi’s information comes from his late Uncle Pepe — Giancana’s brother — who, Celozzi said, told him about the mob’s complicity in the killing.

Friday night Twilight Zone reruns, Saturday afternoon Frankenstein matinees, and Sunday morning Godzilla flicks; these were the films that introduced my lifelong love affair with horror films. My parents were the influencers, the ones that nurtured my fascinations with the fantastic, weird, and wonderful world of genre film. I was taught from them to respect the classics, the films of Hitchcock, the genius of Lon Chaney, and the storytelling of Sterling, but they also emphasized an understanding and study of the past. A quarter century on from its release, Radar Films' remake of 1989's "Kickboxer" is getting a familiar face - the original's star and Belgian martial arts icon Jean Claude Van Damme.
The original film starred Van Damme as Kurt Sloane, the cornerman for his talented martial artist brother Eric. The pair travel to Thailand where the brother is crippled at the hands of the country's undefeated champion Tong Po. Vowing to avenge him, Kurt seeks the help of Xian Chow - a famous trainer living in a remote part of the country.
In the new version, Van Damme will take on the Xian Chow role with newcomer Alain Moussi taking on the Kurt Sloane role. Also starring are former Ufc champion Georges St Pierre in the Eric role and Dave Bautista as Tong Po.
Van Damme replaces Tony Jaa who was originally slated to play the remake's Master Chow.

Jcvd is returning to the franchise that helped him to become the star that he was, Kickboxer. Word has come in now that the renowned martial artist has officially been cast in the upcoming remake, this time taking on the Master role. Come inside to learn more!
I don't think I can properly convey how excited I am. I've always been bummed that Van Damme fell off the map for so long, because I think he's a strong action actor and deserved better. His turn in Expendables 2 as the villain provide ample proof of his badass nature. While I can't say I was really looking forward to a Kickboxer remake, my excitement level just kciked up a few notches.
Van Damme will take on the role of Master Chow to guide Kurt Sloan (his former role in the franchise) in his quest of vengeance. I'm hoping it's not cheesy or over done for his appearance,...

We're sure there's a precedent for this somewhere, but it's rare for actors to join remakes of films they previously starred in. But then again, Jean-Claude Van Damme is no regular actor. The martial artist and thespian is replacing Tony Jaa in the currently lensing remake of his breakout hit film "Kickboxer." The actor is taking the role of "Master Chow" which should be....interesting. Dave Baustista, former Ufc champ Georges St. Pierre and some guy named Alain Moussi lead the movie, and with Jcvd involved, we just got more interested. Full press release below. ---------- December 1, 2014 - Ted Field from Radar Films, has announced that Jean-Claude Van-Damme (Jcvd) joined the Kickboxer cast, taking over the role of Master Chow replacing Tony Jaa. The film is produced by Ted Field of Radar Films, Dimitri Logothetis and Nick Celozzi. Mike Weber and Peter Meyer will executive produce. The Exchange is selling Kickboxer worldwide.

Digital & DVD Release Date: Nov. 19, 2013
Studio: Synergetic Distribution & The G-Machine
The 2011 documentary film Momo: The Sam Giancana Story details the life of a tough, impoverished kid who rose through the ranks of Chicago’s underworld to become a top member—many say the real godfather—of the most ruthless gangland organization in the country: The Outfit.
Directed and produced by Dimitri Logothetis and produced by Nicholas Celozzi, the great nephew of Giancana, Momo offers a portrait of a man who was known as an infamous crime boss, a loving husband and father, and a generous friend and neighbor. A man who loved power, loved the limelight, and loved his family – all in equal measure.
The film also provides insight into Giancana’s connections with the Kennedy family and how he delivered three states to ensure JFK’s election, and, later, how he may have personally arranged for the President’s assassination.

In the 80s, rock music and horror movies went together like acid washed jeans and feathered hair. The trouble is, even though many horror movies had awesome rock soundtracks, the movies that specifically featured rock musician characters as heroes or villains varied wildly in quality. Although the rock horror movie has mostly gone the way of the 80s, I’m not sure any other type of music will ever have such a successful love affair with horror. I can’t picture people turning up for a movie called Pop Divas of the Apocalypse, or Death by Dubstep, or even Bloody Pit of Techno Bastards. But what do I know? I’m still stuck in the 80s. Here are 10 of the movies that are stuck with me.
