"I've never yielded to anyone." Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for an indie Italian drama titled The Last Paradiso, also known as L'ultimo Paradiso originally in Italian. This film tells the true story of an impossible love, a dream of an indomitable man who has a sense of rebellion and justice coursing through his veins. The story follows a man who falls in love with the local mayor's daughter, encountering all kinds of trouble when he refuses to let her go. Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio stars as Ciccio Paradiso, plus Gaia Bermani Amaral as his love interest Bianca, along with Valentina Cervi and Antonio Gerardi. This looks like a cliche Italian story full of passion and romance intertwined with olive oil and politics. Dive in and escape to another time. Here's the official trailer for Rocco Ricciardulli's The Last Paradiso, direct from Netflix's YouTube: Based on real events,...

The Italian director puts his name to a remake of French comedy The Players, this time starring Valerio Mastandrea and Riccardo Scamarcio, who is also producing the movie. Filming has wrapped on Gli infedeli, the new film by Stefano Mordini and a remake of the homonymous French film (The Players), which took the box office by storm in 2014, earning itself a grand total of 2.3 million euros. Starring Valerio Mastandrea, Riccardo Scamarcio, Laura Chiatti, Valentina Cervi, Marina Foïs, Massimiliano Gallo and Euridice Axen, Gli Infedeli is an episodic film in the tradition of the Italian-style comedies popularised between the 1950s and the 80s. Through five short stories, we are told of the amorous misadventures of five men, each of them grappling with wives, girlfriends and lovers. It’s an irreverent and amusing though somewhat bitter look at love. Based upon an idea put forward by the actor-director Jean Dujardin, the...

It’s quite an achievement to set back gay representation on Italian screens by about 30 years, but Valeria Golino’s second feature as director manages to accomplish that dubious feat. “Euphoria” is a dolled-up mess of a movie featuring Riccardo Scamarcio as a rich and glamorous “entrepreneur” who takes it on himself to hide his brother’s cancer diagnosis from everyone involved. Don’t bother asking why, because the only possible answer, reinforced at every turn, is that each and every character is intellectually deficient. The real surprise is how Golino, whose directorial debut “Miele” showed such subtle maturity, could think that this mess of a script was worth putting on screen. Slick production values, a name cast and the kind of family-centric disease-of-the-week storyline beloved of matinee audiences will equal good box office at home.
If Golino and her fellow scriptwriters brought in gay author Walter Siti to add an authentically queer vibe,...

Well ... That happened.
For the capper to a wildly uneven season, True Blood decided to whack a major character, only to bring him back again seconds later as the Second Coming. That's right, folks - Lilith has passed on her bloody merkin, and Bill Compton has strapped it on as the new cherry-coated vampire demigod du jour.
That sound you hear is millions of shrugs as the half of the audience who gave up on the show years ago but still tunes in every week in the hopes that it will at least get their spouse horny enough for a little Sunday night nookie cancels their HBO in a fuzzy post-coital haze and forgets that any of this ever happened.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
"Blast him!"
Sookie (Anna Paquin) rallies her magical, dance belted army against Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) - but it does little to dissuade him.

Warning: Stop reading if you haven't seen the fifth season finale of 'True Blood.' (Spoilers ahoy!) Oh. My. Vampire. God. After a hit-or-miss season, True Blood's Aug. 26 finale was a non-stop barrage of perfection. When the dust finally settled, we were left with four characters dead, five characters born, and one mind-blowing question we'll be pondering until June 2013: Is this really the end of the road for Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)? Let's break it all down, plot by crazy-awesome plot: Bill Compton, vampire... god? Lilith's "chosen one" went fifty shades of cray in the season's final hour, tricking Salome (Valentina Cervi) into drinking silver — we all knew she was going to die, no surprise there — then chugging all of Lilith's blood for himself. Even an impassioned speech from Sookie (Anna Paquin) couldn't keep Bill from quenching his thirst, which led to his shocking death — and even more...

True Blood Season Finale Preview: "Time For Tolerance is Over"
Season 5 of True Blood is coming to an end on Sunday and we will find out if the word of Lilith will prevail. There are several battles that will take place; one between Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) and the fairies, another over at the Vampire Authority headquarters between those who believe in Lilith (and believe they are chosen) and those who do not.
This week saw Bill (Stephen Moyer) embrace his new found religious ideology as he saw visions of Lilith telling him that he is the chosen one and to drink all of her blood. Bill is not the only one who has experienced this and fellow Chancellors Kibwe (Peter Mensah) and Salome (Valentina Cervi) also believe they are the chosen one. Bill has dispatched of Kibwe, but it is unclear as to what will happen when he confronts Salome.

True Blood Preview: Russell Wants Fairy Blood
The Vampire Authority put their Sanguinista plans into motion, plans that will end mainstreaming on True Blood and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) is resisting this change. This means that the war that is coming between humans and vampires will be taking center stage for the final three episodes.

Now that True Blood's Vampire Authority is running rampant and killing humans, it's every man — and vampire! — for themselves. Naturally, consummate survivor Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) has successfully planted himself where he'll be most useful: Alongside Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare), Salome (Valentina Cervi) and Nora (Lucy Griffiths) in a place of power.
How will the formerly vampire-hating baby vamp survive in the impending battle between the mainstreamers and the Sanguinistas? TVGuide.com turned to McMillian to get the scoop, including the future for Steve and his human crush Jason (Ryan Kwanten), and Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) involvement with the Authority moving forward...

It's hard to believe, but just four episodes remain in Season 5 of "True Blood". Here's a preview of next week's episode, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" - here's hoping it continues the vast improvement we've seen thus far this season!
Episode #57 (5.09): “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”: The start of the vampire holy war is a cause for celebration for Salome (Valentina Cervi) and the Chancellors; a rise in anti-supernatural sentiment puts Sookie (Anna Paquin) in danger.

Good gravy, where to start? This week's episode (directed by series star Stephen Moyer) was packed with enough blood, sugar, sex, and magic to put the Red Hot Chili Peppers themselves to shame. Grab your tube sock and let's jump in!
As disorderly orderly Joe Bob gets dragged off to the po-po by Andy (Chris Bauer), Sam (Sam Trammell) snaps, "Enjoy prison, asshole!" Joe starts to respond, but Andy cautions him, "Shut up, buttplug."
Luna (Janina Gavankar), meanwhile, is in her room freaking out over the fact that there are so many shifter-killers everywhere. Sam talks her down and tucks her in, assuring her that he has it covered. But the second he is gone, she is up again and practicing her hospital spazz-out audition scene for Girl Interrupted 2: Your Girlfriend is a Shifter - she looks into the mirror, gets a terrible stomach pain, and doubles over -...

True Blood Preview: The Authority Put Their Plan Into Action
It doesn't look like it is safe to be human now on True Blood as the Vampire Authority has embraced the vision of Lilith and interpreted it to mean that they are free to drain whoever they want. There doesn't appear to be any objection within the authority, with only Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) showing disdain for the whole notion. Is this the beginning of the end for vampire/human peaceful co-existence?
After the exuberant feast in a bar in New Orleans the vampires return to the Authority headquarters still very much high on Lilith's blood and what they have just experienced. Eric questions what has just happened with Bill (Stephen Moyer) responding that they are in the presence of God, giving an early indication as to where Bill's allegiance may lie. Bill and Eric have always had a contentious relationship,...

The human-vampire war is almost upon us! Do you think Bill is really evil, or just playing along? Remember a few weeks ago when I said Bill (Stephen Moyer) was going to embrace the Authority's evil, human-nomming ways and everybody called me a Bill-hater? It looks like Team Bill is going to have some serious defending to do, as that's exactly what happened on the July 29 episode of True Blood. Despite Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) best efforts, he wasn't able to coax the Good King away from Lilith's army. Fresh off their Lilith-induced high — Russell (Denis O'Hare) seemed to particularly enjoy the concept of "God's tits" — the Authority vampires got to work on their plan to eradicate the human race. (It was kind of a quick jump if you ask me, but I guess I'm obviously Team Human on this issue.) Bill came up with the sick-but-brilliant idea to bomb all five True Blood factories,...

What was it that Eric said? Something like, “We’ll be fine”? Well, maybe they were fine. Can’t say the same for that group at the karaoke bar. Ah well. But how about that surprise appearance? And then there was the whole Alcide thing. And the fairies. And so much more.

True Blood
“In the Beginning” Air Date: 7/22/2012
Last week ended with one of the most surprising deaths in the annals of True Blood, with Russell breaking free of his own execution to execute the head of the Authority, Christopher Meloni’s Roman. In just six episodes, Meloni had put a giant imprint onto the show, and his goals of mainstreaming vs. the sanguinistas was the most important and interesting storyline going on so far in this hectic, jam packed fifth season. Meloni was the best part of the new season thus far, so obviously Roman will be missed, but his death opens the door for the sanguinistas, and more voracious villainy from Denis O’Hare’s deliciously diabolical and “reborn” Russell Edgington. Turns out, Russell has tied his allegiance to that of Lilith, along with Nora (Lucy Griffiths) and…Salome (Valentina Cervi), who we find out was the one responsible...

Plus, the vampire who dug up Russell finally comes forward! (Warning: So many major spoilers ahead.) After nearly seven weeks of incessant name dropping, Lilith finally appeared in the flesh July 22 on True Blood — or did she? Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) and his newly assembled Authority certainly seemed to think so, but it turns out their precious Jesus vampire isn't everything they dreamt she'd be. In fact, she was literally a dream! The whole mess got started with five little words from Salomé (Valentina Cervi) we've been dying to hear: "I dug up Russell Edgington." So apparently when she's not having sex, she's unearthing pissed-off vampires. Salomé then retrieved the blood of Lilith, which she revealed was not merely symbolic, and offered it as a friendly snack to share among her constituents. Most complied, including a very reluctant Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), except for Chancellor Braun (Christopher Heyerdahl...

We're halfway through Season 5 of "True Blood", and while we're definitely liking it better than Season 4, we're a bit miffed they killed off one of our favorite new characters last night! But the preview for next week's ep features Russell (another of our faves) so we'll forgive them this time.
Along with the preview for Episode 5.07, "In the Beginning", we have another look at the "True Blood" Comic-Con trailer for the second half of the season.

True Blood Preview: Can Sookie Have a Regular Life?
This week's episode of True Blood certainly ended with an unexpected twist and it looks like things are set to take a chaotic turn as Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) nears his freedom. While a civil war is brewing between the Sanguinista and mainstreaming vampires, Russell just wants to feed on humans and if he gets the chance it's going to get very messy indeed.
We ended last week with Alcide (Joe Manganiello) getting attacked and it turned out that it was indeed by werewolves. This all got tempered rather quickly; with Bill (Stephen Moyer) stopping Eric (Alexander Skarsgåard) from staking Russell as Bill believed this would save their lives. Bill's quick thinking was correct as when they returned to the Vampire Authority they were welcomed with a celebration and had their iStakes removed. Bill is much better at pretending that he...

But who dug the crazy old vampire up in the first place? If you've got a theory, I want to hear it! Things got really messy in Bon Temps on the July 8 episode of True Blood — and I'm not just talking about how Sookie (Anna Paquin) puked on Alcide (Joe Manganiello) right before they were about to have sex. Oh, and did I mention Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) were standing in Sook's bedroom watching it all go down? No, the real mess this week came courtesy of Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare), who Sookie & Co. managed to finally track down with a little help from her fairy powers — and a butt-load of alcohol. (Side note: Can Sookie be drunk all the time? She's strangely likable when she's liquored up.) Of course, the question remains: Who really dug Russell up? By probing Alcide's employee's memory, Sookie could tell it...

Valentina Cervi may be an avid fan of her show now, but the "True Blood" star wasn't always a Bon Temps expert.
"I had never seen ['True Blood'], so I watched the first four seasons on a weekend when I got the part, and totally got hooked," the actress, who plays Salome, told HollywoodLife.com. "I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m so lucky to be a part of this.’"
A little background on "True Blood" may have better prepared Cervi for her audition -- or at least the sex scenes. Luckily, Alan Ball put her at ease by telling her not to be afraid to "use her sexual power."
"The writer asked me to be naked on the bed, and I kind of said, 'Oh … ' but she explained to me that Salome is free," Cervi told Vulture in an interview. "She doesn’t cover herself up. I totally got that,...

Like her on-screen persona, Valentina's got all the secrets -- but how much is she willing to give up? Let's find out. True Blood's fifth season has already introduced us to a bevy of new friends and foes, but none so mysterious as Valentina Cervi's Salomé, an ancient — like Biblically ancient — vampire with a penchant for seduction and hidden agendas. HollywoodLife.com chatted with Valentina for the scoop on Russell Edgington's "surprise" return, how first-vampire Lillith will "come into the picture," and what to expect from the "incredible" season finale. I'll start with the obvious: Your character has a ton of sex. Well… not more than anybody else on this show. Wow, good answer. Were you a fan of 'True Blood' before you auditioned? I had never seen it, so I watched the first four seasons on a weekend when I got the part, and totally got hooked.

While it comes as no surprise, fang bangers can take a deep breath, and let out a sigh of satisfaction. No axe hanging over Our heads, waiting for a season pickup. After making us wait for four episodes into the current fifth season, HBO has now announced that True Blood has indeed been picked up for a sixth season.
There are no further details confirmed at this point, but it’s pretty safe to presume that Game of Thrones will return with its third season in April 2013 and that Season 6 of True Blood will follow with its presumed 12 episodes in June. Of course, as we reported in May, Season 6 will be the first as showrunner for current co-executive producer Mark Hudis, who takes over the reigns from Alan Ball at the conclusion of Season 5.

It looks like there are some shenanigans going on in the upcoming Episode 5.04 of "True Blood", entitled "We'll Meet Again", what with Sookie confessing and Alcide telling a half-truth. Check out these clips from the ep to see what they, as well as Pam, are up to.
Episode #52 (5.04): “We’ll Meet Again”: Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) have doubts they will survive the search for Russell (Denis O'Hare). Sookie (Anna Paquin) opens up to Alcide (Joe Manganiello). An irate Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) unwittingly puts Sookie’s life in danger. Yes, it’s legal; HBO sends them out. It’s up to you to decide if waiting for each episode sucks, or if you want to know right now what’s going to happen in the next three episodes of True Blood. The synopses aren’t totally spoilery; they are what you’d see in any TV listing. But if you read ahead you’ll be able to figure some extra things out in advance. Once we’ve seen all of these, we’ll be half way through the season. Already?!

How long can the vampires and regular citizens of Bon Temps, Louisiana co-exist? How long will True Blood garner big ratings for HBO? We'll have to wait and see!
The large ensemble cast of season five includes Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin, Carrie Preston, Chris Bauer, Christopher Meloni, Deborah Ann Woll, Denis O'Hare, Janina Gavankar, Jim Parrack, Joe Manganiello, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Lauren Bowles, Lucy Griffiths, Michael McMillian, Nelsan Ellis, Rutina Wesley, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Scott Foley, Stephen Moyer, Todd Lowe, and Valentina Cervi.
Here are the most recent TV ratings for True Blood on HBO. The TV show's ratings are the best way to tell if it will be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season (though it's presumed that it will be). The fifth season of True Blood airs Sunday nights. There are 12 episodes.

Magic Mike screenwriter Reid Carolin says that he has a musical version of Magic Mike in the works, with eyes on Broadway. And Alex Pettyfer says that if it happens the movie cast should do opening night. There's an interactive element with the audience plugged in as well.
In the ongoing rhetoric surrounding GOProud's endorsement of Mitt Romney, Michael Musto called the group "Jewish Nazis" which while perhaps apt, is a loser because the rules of argument state that the first person to invoke the Nazis always loses. GOProud responded by calling Musto a "human Muppet" who should stick to entertainment and leave politics to the adults. Personally, I'd love to be a human Muppet.

Okay, where should I even begin? The amount of plot threads and character issues that we’re dealing with in True Blood practically doubled in this episode, so let me see if I can keep these straight. In this episode, we’re introduced to:
-Jason’s old school teacher, who is probably the reason he has sex with everything
-Salome (Valentina Cervi), the sexy vampire chancellor who is harder to pin down than a fly
-Andy’s bare butt, which makes its debut on Facebook
-People who still care enough about Debbie to search for her
Let’s try to straighten some of that out here. First of all, the cat is out of the bag, as a whole new group of Bon Temps regulars know that Tara is a vampire. Sam, Arlene and Alcide all know now, and none of them are happy about it (neither am I, but...
