Gary Chapman's career as a Christian singer/songwriter spans more than
20 years and includes eight Dove Awards, four #1 songs on multiple
charts, three Grammy Award nominations, and three years as host of
TNN's Prime Time Country (1996). Chapman began writing songs after he was given a new
Yamaha processor board for hosting at a music technology
convention.
Once surprised his close friend and fellow Christian music artist,
Steven Curtis Chapman (no relation), by landing his helicopter in Steven's
backyard.
He and his third wife Cassie adopted an infant daughter, Eva Rose, in June 2013.
Hobbies include flying (owns a helicopter and has his pilots' license),
auto racing, golf (he has a 10 handicap), horseback riding, Harley
riding and fishing.
