Became a member of the Queensland Government and under the Labour
leader Peter Beattie, Liddy was promoted to Minister for Indigenous
Affairs in 2004. She was forced to resign as Minister in 2005 due to
two major embarrassments, and eventually was voted out of office during
the September 2006 elections.
