From 1959-67 was a celebrated TV host and rock-and-roll impresario in the tri-state--New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania--area around New York City.H e also owned a teen nightclub in Newark, NJ, called "Clay Cole's Land of 1000 Dances".

In 195 he hosted "The Record Wagon", a "rate the record" panel show on NY/NJ public TV. He went on to host a teen dance show on WPIX TV 11 (1960-67). He was briefly a radio DJ on WINS.
Born Albert Rucker, he was asked by the producers of "Rate the Records", a TV dance show he had just been hired to host, to change his name. He chose "Clay Cole", which was actually the name of one of his cousins.
As of July 2003, was retired and living on Oak Island, NC.
