- In 1999, Ruth Conforte returned to Los Angeles from a two year assignment in Indonesia where she was casting for RCTI, the number one TV station in Jakarta. She is presently casting commercials, industrials, feature films and television in Los Angeles. During Ms. Conforte's earlier days in New York, she cast the daytime serial THE DOCTORS. She also cast commercials for Colgate-Palmolive, Ajax, Cutex Nail Polish, Clairol, Old Spice and Chanel. After relocating to Los Angeles, Ms. Conforte held staff positions at Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Lorimar and Osmond Productions (TV in charge of casting). Later on, as head of casting for commercials for Colgate-Palmolive, Ajax, Dow HandiWrap, Cutex, Clairol, Old Spice and Chanel. After relocating to Los Angeles, she held staff positions at Disney Studios, Warner Bros, Universal Studios, Lorimar and Osmond Productions (in charge of television casting) casting pilots, TV series, movie of the weeks, comedy, variety shows and feature films. Her contributions to television include Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman (1976), Eight Is Enough (1977), Man from Atlantis (1977) and the original casting of Dallas (1978). In 1996, Ruth was appointed as casting director for the first primetime television series for RCTI, the #1 rated station in Jakarta, Indonesia, and returned to the U.S.A. in 1998.
