Officials confirmed in a press conference on Sunday that three law enforcement officers have died and three others were injured in a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN that cops received a call of "suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle." The suspect opened fire when police arrived on the scene. The Baton Rouge Sheriff's office confirmed in a press conference that one suspect had been shot and killed by police but that they believe there is more than one suspect involved. They are currently investigating the shooting and searching for possible other suspects.

The next night, while Joseph attended a basketball game at the school, police say 17-year-old Keondrae Ricks broke into her car and stole some possessions - including the textbook in which Joseph had put the signed speech.
