The Vaccines and the Horrors joined each other on stage during their sets at this year's Reading Festival. Police in the U.K. have dropped an investigation into British singer Cheryl Cole's ex-husband after he accidentally shot a soccer club intern with an air rifle. Sports star Ashley Cole, who plays for London soccer giant Chelsea F.C., wounded work experience staffer Tom Cowan at the team's training ground in Surrey, England in February.
Cowan received hospital treatment, and police launched an investigation into the incident. However, the 21 year old did not press charges and detectives have now confirmed it is "highly unlikely" they will take the matter any further.
Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole divorced her husband in 2010 after his alleged infidelities hit the headlines. Cole was officially granted a divorce by London's High Court Family Division on Friday, September 3, 2010. Both the singer and the soccer player didn't attend the London court hearing where District Judge Christopher Simmonds granted the then-couple a decree nisi.

Surrey Police have confirmed that they will investigate claims that Chelsea Fc footballer Ashley Cole shot a 21-year-old intern with a .22 air rifle. Ashley Cole is believed to have shot and wounded a 21-year-old on work experience at Chelsea Fc. According to The News of the World, Cole fired an air rifle into Tom Cowan's side while "larking" about in a training ground dressing room last Sunday. The 30-year-old was reportedly unaware that the firearm had been loaded and apologised profusely as medics came to the bleeding worker's aid. The Sydney Underground Film Festival recently wrapped up their 4th annual killer year on Sept. 11 with nearly half of all their screenings completely selling out.
Awards this year were given out in three sections. First, there were three Director’s Choice Awards chosen by the festival. Then, there are a selection of Jury Awards for categories such as Innovative Narrative, Unique Aesthetic, Provocative and more. The jury consisted of filmmakers Dean Francis and Tom Cowan, and artist Mark Wotherspoon.
Lastly, each short film block of the festival had an Audience Award given to a single film in that block. However, there were also special notations given to two films that received the most and the second most votes total of all short films in all blocks.
The full lineup of winners is below. Some of the big winners were Stuart Simpson‘s El Monstro Del Mar!, which won the Jury’s Choice Award.
