Fans of the iconic killer doll rejoice, as the mastermind behind the Child’s Play franchise, Don Mancini, has confirmed he is crafting another cinematic chapter for Chucky. This revelation comes amidst the successful run of the Chucky TV series, which is now in its third season. The news of a new film installment is particularly thrilling for those who’ve followed the murderous doll’s journey from its inception. During his appearance on the Scream Dreams Podcast, alongside horror icon Barbara Crampton, Mancini teased, I’m actually in the early stages of working on a new Chucky movie. While details remain sparse, this

As far as I’m concerned, director Jim Wynorski’s 1986 film Chopping Mall (watch it Here) ranks up there as one of the most entertaining horror movies of the ’80s, which is the decade that brought a lot of my favorite horror movies into the world. It’s also a movie that doesn’t seem to get referenced often enough, and doesn’t get as much respect as it deserves – even if James Wan wants to remake it and Shout Factory TV aired it for 24 hours straight on Black Friday. So I’m glad to see that Chopping Mall is getting some love from the folks at Encyclopocalypse Publications, who have announced that they’re teaming up with Shout Factory and author Brian G. Berry for a Chopping Mall novelization!
Written by Wynorski and Steve Mitchell, Chopping Mall has the following synopsis: Some people will kill for a bargain… and...

Larry Fessenden is back with new werewolf horror movie Blackout, which is Now Available on Digital/VOD at home courtesy of Dark Sky Films.
Blackout is the third film in Fessenden’s monster trilogy, following Habit (vampires) and Depraved (Frankenstein). Watch a clip below for a sneak peek at his latest monster!
The film follows small town artist Charley (Alex Hurt), a tortured man whose drinking binges blur with his sneaking suspicion that he might likely be a werewolf. He distances himself from those he loves and sinks deeper into solitude, his flashes of memory of his nighttime grisly acts manifested through his artwork.
Fessenden tells us, “I am interested in finding new truths in the classic monster tropes of my youth. The essence of each creature dictates the milieu of the film, and of course, the werewolf is both out of control and regretful so that duality shaped my story.

With his latest film, Blackout (not to be confused with The Blackout), Larry Fessenden finally gets around to tackling the werewolf mythos. He’s dealt with vampires in Habit, Frankenstein and his creation in Depraved, and even the Wendigo in the film of the same name. Now he ventures to Talbot Falls, I wonder where he got that name from, for a tale of lycanthropy, small town corruption and what it means to be human.
Blackout begins traditionally enough for a horror film with a couple having sex outdoors, running afoul of a large, hairy creature before introducing us to Charley. He’s an artist with a drinking problem, or at least that’s what he tells people is the cause of his monthly blackouts. Of course, he,...

Plot: Infected by the bite of a werewolf, a man sets out to bring down a shady businessman before arranging the end of his own life.
Review: Larry Fessenden has over 100 acting credits to his name, and if you’ve been following the horror genre over the last few decades there’s a good chance you’ve seen him show up in something, whether it be a Ti West movie, Stake Land, Late Phases, You’re Next, or the movie I first noticed him in, Session 9. He’s also a prolific producer, and has directing credits stretching back to the 1980s – most of those credits being on horror movies. Over the course of his career, he has told stories of vampires, the Wendigo, a man-eating fish, and even came up with his own take on Frankenstein’s Monster with his 2019 film Depraved. Continuing down the path of putting his stamp on the concept of classic monsters,...

In 2019, the documentary of 80s horror In Search of Darkness became an instant hit with horror fans. Now, a beautiful coffee table style companion book is available and is a must-own for all fans of one of horror’s greatest eras. The book is a walk down the horror aisle of the best mom and pop video store in the heyday of VHS, featuring full color photos, poster art, insightful essays and more. More than just a nostalgic throwback, In Search of Darkness is the kind of book I wish I’d had back in my years as a burgeoning horror fan but is also satisfying for the film fanatic I have become in the years since.

I’ve always felt that the 1979 horror film Tourist Trap (watch it Here) deserves a lot more respect and attention than it gets – and that star Chuck Connors (best known for The Rifleman) deserved the “genre icon” career he was aiming for when he signed on for the movie. Barbara Crampton is someone who did achieve a genre icon career, and she clearly believes there was something great going on with Tourist Trap, because our friends at Bloody Disgusting have learned that she is producing a remake of the film!

Author Stephen Graham Jones started his Indian Lake Trilogy with the novel My Heart Is a Chainsaw, which has an audiobook version that was read by Cara Gee, who may be best known for her work on the TV shows Strange Empire and The Expanse. The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and it has been frequently updated since then. A couple weeks ago, it was revealed that a new character portrayed by genre icon Barbara Crampton is being added to the game in an upcoming update – and now details on the character have been unearthed on the game’s official website! The character with Crampton’s voice and likeness is a Victim character named Virginia.
Here are the details: Virginia is a grief-stricken mother who cannot get over the disappearance of her son Jesse. She’s obsessive over his vanishing and refuses to believe that he could be gone. The weight of her pain is so immense she leaves behind her nursing career to move to Newt, TX, the last location Jesse was seen.

Originally teased last month, horror legend Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, You’re Next, Jakob’s Wife) is joining The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as a brand new character named Virginia, and Gun Interactive has provided much more info on the character today.
Barbara Crampton is no stranger to the world of horror video games, having recently voiced a character in Back 4 Blood. But this will be the first time Crampton has made her presence known in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre franchise, which is extremely cool for fans.
For starters, Barbara Crampton’s Virginia is a Victim character, and the character will not only feature a dead-on likeness but will also be voiced by Crampton herself!

These past two years I've been fortunate to experience everything from a séance and a Vampire Ball to Halloween costume parties in April at The Overlook Film Festival (you can read all about it in my previous event report), and as I prepare to attend "summer camp for horror fans" for a third year in a row, the initial lineup for the festival's 2024 edition already has me wishing it were time to head to the Big Easy.
Brimming with must-see screenings and immersive experiences, the initial lineup for The Overlook Film Festival 2024 has plenty for horror fans to mark on their calendars between April 4th–7th, including Cuckoo, Abigail, I Saw the TV Glow, Blackout, a 50th anniversary screening of Phantom of the Paradise (with Paul Williams in attendance), and a 10th anniversary screening of Oculus with director Mike Flanagan, who will be in attendance along with Kate Siegel to...

The events of Gun’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game take place before the events of Tobe Hooper’s classic horror movie, beginning with the disappearance of Maria Flores. Maria’s sister (Anna Flores) and her friends head out to Texas to investigate, and that’s essentially the storyline behind every match of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre that you play.
In celebration of the video game hitting 1.1 million units sold and 5.6 million total players, Gun Interactive has relaunched Petals today, a free-to-play online photography game.
Gun previews the experience that first launched in 2022, “Go back to where it all started and experience the story of Maria’s fateful trip with Petals, a floral photography game.
“Walk in her shoes and learn more about her disappearance.”
You can download the Free exploration sim and start playing now!
What can you expect from the game in the coming months?...

On the heels of a new executions and weapons skins pack being released for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, not to mention Barbara Crampton joining in on the fun, it’s admittedly a bit of a surprise that the game’s developer, Sumo Nottingham, has announced that they’ll be handing off future development of the asymmetrical multiplayer game to another developer.
In a post to X, Sumo Nottingham announced that they will be working closely with the as-yet-unannounced incoming developer to “ensure a smooth and efficient handoff” of the game, with no interruption to players. They write, “We’d like to thank Gun Interactive for being fantastic partners for the last four years, and for giving our horror-loving team the opportunity to sink their meat hooks into this iconic title.” Sumo Nottingham will be announcing their next project “all in due course.”

Back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, Anchor Bay Entertainment was a major player in the horror world, giving DVD releases to films like the Evil Dead trilogy, George A. Romero’s Dead trilogy, the Sleepaway Camp franchise, The Hills Have Eyes, The Car, Maniac, Prom Night, some of the Hellraisers, Halloweens, and much more. Then things changed, and eventually Anchor Bay got folded into Lionsgate Home Entertainment… but now Deadline reports that the Anchor Bay Entertainment label is being revived, and the revival is starting off with the releases of puppet horror film Abruptio and Dinner with Leatherface, a documentary that looks at the life, career, and legacy of original Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen!

A familiar label for horror fans is getting a resurrection. Umbrelic Entertainment co-founders Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz are bringing back a new iteration of Anchor Bay Entertainment with the goal to curate a new library of films for distribution, projects that range from new release genre films, undiscovered treasures, cult classics, and remastered catalog releases.
The new launch comes with a pair of acquisition titles: puppet horror film Abruptio and documentary Dinner with Leatherface.
“We had an opportunity to take the name of a beloved genre film brand, one we feel a personal connection to, for our new company,” says Zambeck in a press release statement. “This is a new venture, unaffiliated with any previous incarnations. Silly Done Right
January featured plenty of highs and lows on Horror Queers. We started with the brilliant sequel Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 (listen) and the silly subversiveness of German film Killer Condom (listen). Then we descended into trash for two weeks with The Covenant (listen) and The Roommate (listen).
Thankfully we wrapped the month on a high with Stuart Gordon‘s playful, gory and mean-spirited adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft‘s Re-Animator (1985).
Featuring a career defining performance by Jeffrey Combs, the film follows eccentric burgeoning scientist Herbert West (Combs) as he befriends/seduces aspiring doctor Dan Cain (Bruce Abbott), much to the chagrin of Dan’s girlfriend, Megan (Barbara Crampton) and her secret admirer, creepy Dr. Hill (David Gale).
As the experiments – and the corpses – begin to pile up, it’s unclear who the real villain is. Will Herbert successfully test his serum? Will Dan live to become a doctor? Or...

Full Moon Features is gearing up to go into production on their “crazy, candy-colored” comedy Barbenheimer, which was inspired by the portmanteau we all saw a thousand times last summer, as movie-goers headed out for double features of Barbie and Oppenheimer. Full Moon founder Charles Band took to social media to let us know that Barbenheimer will begin filming on April 8th, aiming for a summer 2024 release.

Diana Prince. We’ll have to wait and see if that means Sydney, Crampton, Joe Bob, and Prince are all going to appear in the movie.
Barbenheimer will be telling the story of Dr. Bambi J Barbenheimer, a brilliant scientist doll living in Dolltopia, a world of endless summers and beach parties,...
