- Clay loved bowling, sushi, mid-century modern furniture, hosting orphaned friends at Christmas and throwing extravagant Halloween parties. He loved the Talking Heads, the B52s, X, Pavement, the Clash, Gang of Four, the Butthole Surfers and David Bowie.
- He had a passion for model building and left behind an enormous and meticulously maintained collection he painted by hand. He was also a very talented fine artist.

His friends George Lowe and Andy Merrill expressed their sadness in the wake of the news of his death through Facebook and Twitter, as he was a good person, and was very kind to everyone.
- In addition to being a voice artist, he was an animator who worked on promos for the Cartoon Network.
- Was very good friends with co-stars George Lowe, Andy Merrill and Dave Willis since working with them on Space Ghost Coast to Coast (1993).
- Croker was cremated. His ashes were given to his sister and brother-in-law.
