The Perfection is directed by Richard Shepard and stars Allison Williams and Logan Browning as Charlotte and Lizzie, two classic musically trained prodigies who – on a chance meeting at a musical exhibition held by the benefactors of each girl, both of whom are showing off their latest star pupil – become entangled in each other’s talent. Together they slowly bond with deadly morally ambiguous intent.
Richard Shepard’s film is a thrilling haunting blast from its eerie start to its diabolically horrid and splendid climax. Splitting itself into chapters – in a similar style implemented by Tarantino in his filmography – and structuring itself into a series of five individual parts with aptly provided titles. The...

"What brings you to Mongolia?" Vertical Entertainment has debuted a new trailer for an indie adventure comedy titled Burn Your Maps, from writer/director Jordan Roberts. This first premiered at film festivals back in late 2016, and has taken three years to finally get an actual Us release. No idea why, but this trailer might give you a hint that it's just not all that. Burn Your Maps is about a family in emotional turmoil that is taken by surprise when an eccentric 8-year-old American boy, Wes, has an existential epiphany - he believes that he is in fact a Mongolian goat herder. So they travel to Mongolia and things get even crazier, of course. Jacob Tremblay stars with Vera Farmiga, and a cast including Virginia Madsen, Marton Csokas, Jason Scott Lee, Suraj Sharma, Arielle Rombough, Ramon Rodriguez, and Glynis Davies. This looks cute but also awkward and just strange, not...

Allison Williams stars with Logan Browning, and a cast including Steven Weber, Alaina Huffman, Glynis Davies, and Winnie Hung. This is one of those films that is best seen without having watched any footage before, but if you need to be convinced the trailer shows just enough to get your undivided attention. Sound the revival klaxon! Stargate is the latest property to get a nostalgia-fuelled kick up the arse, with MGM going so far as to launch its own streaming service to house a new series.
Stargate Command will be the name of the streaming platform, and Stargate: Origins is the title of the show. Ten episodes of the latter will arrive on the former this autumn.
A report from Variety tells us that the show will focus on Catherine Langford, "daughter of archaeologist Paul Langford, who discovered the ancient, round Stargate". In the established canon, she was a young girl when the Stargate was first discovered.
In previous iterations of the franchise, Catherine has been played by Elizabeth Hoffman, Nancy McClure, Glynis Davies, Kelly Vint and Viveca Lindfors.
