Just when we thought things were good between Catherine Sarah Lancashire) and Clare (Siobhan Finneran), Happy Valley Season 3 Episode 3 promises to shake up their dynamic like never before.
In an exclusive first look at the next episode, we see the two sisters come to blows over Ryan's (Rhys Connah) communication with Tommy (James Norton).
The sisterly bond hasn't been as strong in recent years, and this latest bump in the road could change everything for them.
As viewers are well aware, Tommy is one of TV's most despicable characters, and his actions have shaped the lives of everyone in Happy Valley.
As a result, it's not easy to see why Catherine is so shocked by her sister's actions.

It's been a long wait, but Happy Valley's third and final season finally premieres Monday, May 22, on Acorn TV, AMC+, and BBC America.
As has been teased in the teasers and trailers, we're in for another edge-of-the-seat thriller from start to finish.
TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at Happy Valley Season 3 Episode 1, and it's a great indicator of what's to come.
The clip features Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) being quizzed about another crime, and he's somehow scarier than before.
The role has been a change of pace for Norton, and he plays the darkest shades of Royce's personality to perfection.
Undoubtedly, he'll cause many problems for Sft Catherine Cawood throughout the last-ever episodes of this hit series that has been off the air since 2016.
Yes, after a seven-year hiatus, we're being treated to a compelling new mystery, filled with shocking twists and turns.

It’s almost the end! The finale of Happy Valley – meaning the last ever episode given that this is the last ever season – is just around the corner, with the penultimate chapter airing this week. Lucky for us, it’s a doozy.
Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) is a newly free man with a plan, but Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) – who is already facing family dynamics almost as messed up as a Greek tragedy – won’t let him go easily.
Ouch
With Tommy on the loose, it’s time to board up the doors and lock up the windows for Catherine and co. Good thing Nev (George Costigan)is such a hospitable host. He invites Catherine, Clare (Siobhan Finneran), Neil (Con O’Neil) to stay until Tommy is caught. Of course, Ryan (Rhys Connah) too – only he goes Mia for a moment after ditching Richard’s (Derek Riddell) house, where...

Finally! After almost seven years, Happy Valley is back, and this BAFTA-winning crime drama’s third and final season is set to be as nail-biting as ever. These six fresh episodes from writer Sally Wainwright are definitely worth the wait.
Series Three dives back into the action around five years after the explosive events of the Series Two finale, beginning with Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) discovering the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, a discovery which will lead her all the way back to her nemesis Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton).
Catherine still lives with her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) who’s now sixteen and working out what kind of relationship, if any, he wants with Royce, the man who fathered him when he raped Catherine’s daughter Becky. Needless to say, Catherine won’t take this well.
Still battling with the local drug problem,...

The Baby is probably the weirdest show you’ll see in a long time. But anyone with a dark sense of humour, a stomach for gore and about four hours on their hands really should check out The Baby. Ostensibly a comedy horror, but also a family drama, a tragic love story, a nightmarish look at motherhood and a paranoid, supernatural parable (in eight handy 30 minute-or-less episodes), The Baby tells the story of Natasha (Michelle de Swarte), a woman with no kids, who is more than content to stay that way until a baby literally falls off a cliff and into her arms. This is no ordinary baby… it’s a killer baby! Or a certainly a sort of Final Destination-powers, Midwich Cuckoos-got-nothing-on-you infant who destroys anyone who tries to separate him from his chosen surrogate mother/victim by causing accidents or occasionally engaging in out-and-out mind control.

Is there more to this infant than meets the eye in the first season of The Baby TV show on HBO? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Baby is cancelled or renewed for season two (this show appears to be a close-ended series but that could change). Check out the trailer below.

First off if, like me, you saw the title of this movie and was a little put off, rest assured that Fractured is much better than the generic title…
After looking up director Jamie Patterson it should have been no surprise that he has directed quite a few films (although not any I have actually seen), because Fractured looks very much like a movie made by an experienced filmmaker. It looks great and I loved some of the camera work. There’s some expert use of lighting and several really interesting and simply fantastic-looking shots. Things that might sound simple but on screen are so much more. Like an almost black and white shot of a house with one character in light (and therefore colour) seen through a window.

Fractured appears, on the surface and the for first 40 minutes, as a predictable cabin-in-the-woods scenario – the American cabin being replaced with a charming house in the English countryside. A young couple, Michael (Karl Davies) and Rebecca (April Pearson), are driving along an unlit country road, on their way to the house. On the way, they stop at a petrol station where the guy behind the counter (Calvin Dean) looks very shifty indeed. The couple arrive at the house, and (of course) get the sense that they’re not alone.
The first half is enough for anyone to twitch in their seats, out of boredom rather than fear. Hearn’s script suffers the occasional, apathetic cliché, as well as pockets of ludicrous writing. One scene has Michael knock himself unconscious after trying to pull up his trousers, after he ties up his girlfriend for some basic kinky sex. There was an great opportunity for comedy here,...

Nominated for Best UK Feature at the Raindance Film Festival, The Quiet Hour is a gritty post-apocalyptic thriller with a human story at its core. I love the sprinkling of sci-fi here and how the FX are integrated into the moody British landscape.
The Quiet Hour is a UK science-fiction thriller written and directed by French director Stephanie Joalland and produced by Sean McConville. It stars Dakota Blue Richards (The Golden Compass), Karl Davies and Jack McMullen.
Synopsis:

Director/writer: Stéphanie Joalland. Cast: Dakota Blue Richards, Karl Davies, Jack McMullen and Brigitte Millar. The Quiet Hour is a science fiction drama. From Stéphanie Joalland, the film takes place during an alien invasion. Characters can only emerge from their hideaways for two hours a day and the local cannibals take advantage of these 120 minutes. Meanwhile, a desperate family struggles to survive, in these dire circumstances. Strangely, there are a number of suicidal characters, in this outing; they crack under the many pressures. And, the focus of the film is more on interaction and dialogue, versus action or story elements. The film is slowly paced through early acts, but the film is well produced, overall. Most science fiction fans will enjoy this indie film outing. Sarah (Dakota Blue Richards) is the protagonist of the film. The opening scene involves Sarah, burying her father. He has fallen victim to an alien attack.

Chicago – I’m on board with Jude Law leading a film and neutral about submarine movies as a genre. My primary pre-screening interest in the quietly marketed thriller “Black Sea” was what Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald would do with this material following his hit with the hard-hitting drama “The Last King of Scotland”.
As it turns out, Jude Law as a desperate, angry and greedy skipper is not nearly as impactful as Forest Whitaker’s brutal Ugandan dictator. And “Black Sea,” which dives down to oceanic hull break point, isn’t propelled by nearly as deep of a story as the Oscar-winning Whitaker film.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
As for standing the test of time, “Black Sea” won’t. The film will not appear on favorite submarine film lists in the company of greats including “The Hunt for Red October,” “Crimson Tide,” “U-571,” “K-19: The Widow Maker,” “The Abyss” and “20,000 Leagues Under...

Here's a submarine thriller that delivers on tension but doesn't get too deep, which is surprising when you consider that director Kevin Macdonald is also the man behind The Last King of Scotland and State of Play. Still, there is some meat for Jude Law to chew on as the captain of an undersea mission to recover a stash of gold and he proves himself a sturdy anchor.
Apart from an impressive Scottish accent, the actor shows some serious grit as Captain Robinson, who is laid off after years of loyal service to a salvage company. For a while it looks as though Macdonald is venturing into a socialist diatribe against big business as Robinson and his colleagues gather at the pub to fuel their anger. The...

In hindsight, it’s been a long time since moviegoers have had a promising submarine film to look forward to. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, it seemed as though Hollywood studios took a shine to compressing a drama and/or thriller within a claustrophobic tin can at 800 feet, with the likes of The Hunt for Red October and Crimson Tide being the most notable examples.
In essence, these films were a by product of the resonating paranoia left over from the Cold War, but that doesn’t mean that the core framework — one built to ensure maximum tension at the murky depths of the ocean — couldn’t be wrapped around a more modern tale, and that’s exactly what Focus Features has done for its upcoming maritime adventure, Black Sea.

BBC One's The Crimson Field is relevant to modern audiences because we are still making "the same mistakes", actor Karl Davies has said.

U.S. Distributor: Focus Features
Cast: Jude Law, Jodie Whittaker, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, Karl Davies, and Daniel Ryan
Kevin Macdonald’s been busy. Alternating between feature films and documentaries (he had one of each in 2013), he’s back with an action thriller in 2014. While a preliminary plot synopsis doesn’t quite spark the imagination, Macdonald’s got a knack for off the cuff momentum, even in material that’s sometimes a bit tepid (2009′s State of Play, for instance). An unassuming cast adds to intrigue.

The first photos are out of Jude Law in Kevin Macdonald's treasure hunting thriller "Black Sea" via EW.
Originally slated for an older actor, Law "adopted an Aberdeen accent, put on weight, built up his forearms and shoulders, shaved his head and let his stubble grow out" to nab the part.
In the film he plays a submarine captain who gets laid off by a salvage company. Looking for money and payback, he accepts a gig from a shadowy backer to hunt for a sunken Russian U-boat at the bottom of the Black Sea said to be loaded with gold.
Assembling a crew of Russian and English sailors to help him, the captain quickly begins to realise how dangerous a situation he has put himself in as tensions onboard boil over and both greed and desperation take hold.
Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, Jodie Whittaker, Karl Davies, and Daniel Ryan also star.

For ease of explanation, if you happen to be a fan of Doc Martin, Kingdom is a show you’re almost guaranteed to enjoy. It doesn’t have the snarkiness (Stephen Fry‘s Peter Kingdom is the most jovial fellow you’re going to run into) but there are a lot of similarities. Most obvious, before you know anything, is the inclusion of a wildly popular British comedian in a role that leans toward drama. Both shows also take place in small towns, and both main characters are professionals occupied mostly by the curious antics of the local eccentrics.
Fry plays a solicitor, which opens more doors, and he has an assistant, Lyle (Karl Davies), whose youthful ambition and spunky disposition are as much a hinderance as a virtue. Where Doc Martin incorporates a mildly crazy populace (like the chemist with the permanent neckbrace), Kingdom not only brings them from the outside,...

We’re nearly half way through the second season of HBO’s Game of Thrones and the new characters are starting to pile up! As if the monstrous cast of Season 1 wasn’t enough to wrap our minds around, there are a whopping 22 new characters (worth mentioning) introduced over the first four episodes of Season 2. Stannis is the late King Robert’s younger brother and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and Westeros. Since Robert’s Rebellion, he has held the island fortress of Dragonstone, which lies northeast of King’s Landing. Stannis is a hard,...

Game of Thrones Season 2 Trailer. The Seven Devils Game of Thrones TV show trailer features a song entitled (I presume) ‘Seven Devils’, song sweetly by a female singer. The Game of Thrones Seven Devils trailer features all new footage for season two of Game of Thrones. The part when the singer or singers say “seven devils are around you” after Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is finished speaking is pretty powerful. Also we are shown that parts of the second and third books in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series are represented in season two. Why do I saw that (spoilers): The Unsullied are shown as well as the moment of their purchase. That happens in A Storm of Swords, the third book in the series (end spoilers). Like it says in the prologue of one of the books though, some events happen coterminous with other events...
