Second Sight Publishing's 2021 horror comic book title "Cult of Dracula" by Rich Davis, featuring a female 'Dracula', is reportedly being developed for a feature film adaptation at Br Films:
"From the beginning, I knew one thing", said Davis about his unique take on Bram Stoker's "Dracula".
"I would not tell another story about an Eastern European dude buying up all the real estate in 'Victorian London'.
"There’s just no need for that story to be told again. It’s been told so many times and so very, very well that I didn’t believe I could add anything to it.

“Br Films, the production team behind Dope Boy Magic, Monogamish, Crossover and The Last Call, has purchased the film production rights to Cult of Dracula from Sure Pictures,” Bloody Disgusting has learned. The project is being put into immediate development.
The press release explains, “An underground hit originally released by Second Sight Publishing, Cult of Dracula lit the indie comics world on fire when it was picked up by Source Point Press. Driven by massive support from a dedicated fanbase and local comic shops, Cult of Dracula would go on to become a Top 100 best selling comic of 2021.
“As successful as it has been, Cult of Dracula is not without controversy. Writer/Creator Rich Davis caused a stir when he decided to ditch the widow’s peak, cape and tuxedo in favor of a svelte femme fatale with goat horns, bat-like wings and a serpent’s tail.”

Was Liberace really that great of a piano man?
Claudette Barius/HBO
In Behind the Candelabra, the first time we encounter Michael Douglas’ Liberace is, naturally, on stage, treating his Vegas audience to a little bit of the boogie-woogie. He deftly carries the jaunty rhythmic bass line in his left hand while adding the melodic riff in his right between bouts of patter with the audience. And if you didn’t think talking and playing (and grinning) at the same time was impressive enough, how about that little “experiment,” as Liberace puts it, where he effortlessly plays the tune double-time—you know, 16 beats to the bar instead of 8?
Soderbergh’s Liberace clearly knows his way around the keyboard, but what about the actual man? He’s remembered primarily as the paragon of kitschy taste, but was Liberace actually a good pianist?
It depends on what you mean by “good.

No, of course we aren't lamenting the news of another fear flick hitting DVD shelves. Rather, we're bringing the news of the UK DVD release of director James Bickert's exploitation-laden Dear God No!, gearing up to smack you in the face on January 14, 2013, courtesy of Monster Pictures. Feast on the goodies here, and check out the Very Nsfw trailer!
Synopsis:
Dear God No! is a tribute to a lost regional drive-in film from 1976 that doesn’t rely heavily on computer gimmicks and cuts to the core of what made these low-budget films shockingly fun. Shot entirely on Super 16Mm Fuji film and using equipment from the era, Dear God No! is a drive-in and grindhouse lover's dream. No pretty actors - just a rocking original soundtrack, bikers, babes, and blood and as many naked breasts as the script would allow.

Joe Henderson always had the respect of fellow musicians and hardcore jazz fanatics, but for a long time it seemed the closest he'd get to fame was his brief stint in Blood, Sweat & Tears (years later he reminisced, in one of my favorite interviews, about how that short period was when sax companies wanted his endorsement and gave him free horns). Hardly fair considering that he spent a quarter century ranked among the top three tenor saxophonists alive, along with Rollins and Shorter. Then, almost miraculously, Verve put together a masterful production/promotion campaign that made him more famous in his last decade than he'd ever been before. Alas, emphysema took him at age 64, but he'd managed to leave an impressive legacy with nary a misstep -- he never made a bad album, and his appearance on anyone else's album was always a mark of quality. (Why is Ptah, the...

Oh Hawaii Five-0 (TV), how I've missed you. Your snark, your very pretty cast, your epic bromance; it's cruel to be kept away from your awesome for so long. And there were so many hilarious things to enjoy in this episode, I don't know where to start without sounding like a fangirl – which I am. Superheroes, ComicCon, high-speed beach chases, and of course, the long awaited return of arch nemeses. A mother and yet another annoying kid are enjoying the pool outside a hotel when a body crashes into a tent. The body is Superman – or actually, Superman's much lamer cousin who can't actually fly, Splatman. But before we get into why some guy in tights does a swan-dive off the tenth floor, let's get some bromance. Specifically, Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) doesn't like it when Danny (Scott Caan) has secrets, namely, the contents of his lunch. Watching them fighting over...
