Robert Altman’s first opportunity to cut loose with an entirely personal film is this scattershot comedy that satirizes the American scene, taking pokes at patriotism, greed, and silly police movies. To his favorite eccentrics from M*As*H Bud Cort and Sally Kellerman he adds the new discovery Shelley Duvall; the movie’s like a bag of absurdist jokes that spilled onto a Houston Highway.

It seems "It Gets Better" could well be the theme of Arrested Development season 4 as each episode has gotten better than the one preceding it (mostly, with a couple of outliers) and filled in the gaps between the close of Arrested Development season 3 and now. With talks already happening about Arrested Development season 5, seeing the same story from the perspective of each character makes more and more sense and works in a way that felt sort of odd in the beginning of this season.
Carrying on the trend of focusing on the story of one character at a time and pulling together all of the pieces of this puzzle, this is George Michael’s arrested development. And it's so, so accurate.
George Michael is the even more awkward Mark Zuckerberg of fake internet start-ups, playing in bounce houses and being aw-shucks about everyone fawning over him. He’s also dating Rebel Alley now,...

We're in the home stretch of our 15 Days of Arrested Development and this time we're catching up with Maeby. "Señoritis" shows us that the more things changed - like years - the more they've stayed the same for the younger, possibly related--but maybe not--member of the Bluth-Funke clan.
This is Maeby’s Arrested Development.
Maeby is in high school, which seems...weird? Since she was in high school during the last season and that was several years ago. She also looks waaaaay too old for high school, and also maybe a little bit like she’s not that into this season of the show. I do love the pregnant teenage girl in her class being followed around by a camera crew though. Maybe she was in a Girls With Low Self Esteem video.
Even though she must have been in school for the past nine years she’s failing math and needs a tutor.

Nothing says "Happy Friday," quite like hemorrhoid costumes... right, Arrested Development Fanatics?
The various storylines on Arrested Development are starting to come together as we follow Tobias to India just like he followed Lindsay. And there's the hemorrhroid and his appearance on To Catch A Local Predator. Hosted by John Beard, of course.
"A New Start" is Tobias’s arrested development. I hope you’re ready for the return of the analrapist.
After unintentionally reading Eat, Pray, Love right after Lindsay, packing an identical suitcase, cutting off her cab on the way to the airport and sitting behind her on the plane, Tobias takes the same passage to India as his estranged wife.
Of course he spends his two weeks in India in the City of Hopelessness Hospital after being hit by the bus Lindsay was riding. Then we’re back to filling in gaps in Lindsay’s episode. The puzzle pieces fit together nicely,...

We're four episodes in to the Netflix (semi) original season of Arrested Development. So far, each episode has focused primarily on one character instead of pulling the entire family together in classic Arrested Development style.
Is it working? Maybe. Today's review in our 15 Days of Arrested Development series focuses on Michael's foray into filmmaking. With a more-than-just-guest appearance from one Ron Howard. And there's also Isla Fisher and who doesn't love her?
"The B. Team," is another part of Michael’s arrested development.
Michael tried to walk away from real estate by getting a high tech job, but since he’s Michael his job ends up being driving the Google car. I’m not sure if Google actually objected to Arrested Development using their name, but the running “Something it” joke is pretty good. And speaking of jokes, I will forgive the pointless, out of place scene featuring Bob Loblaw,...

It's Day 3 of our 15 Days of Arrested Development here at TV Fanatic! In the latest episode, Lindsay is in India, wondering what is real. No, seriously, she wants to know if that handbag is real.
Yes, "Indian Takers" is Lindsay’s arrested development.
Before I can even begin this review, we need to talk about Portia De Rossi’s face. I’m not judging. I’m not criticizing. I’m not even going to speculate on what she had done. But I cannot be the only person who sees that, right?
It’s distracting and I feel like it could have easily been written into the plot as some sort of crazy treatment Lindsay Bluth had done and I would have gotten over it instantly and moved on. There is just no way Lucille wouldn’t have something to say about her daughter’s forehead that never moves and not...

We're back with another review in our 15 Days of Arrested Development series. We'll be reviewing one episode a day for the next two weeks to celebrate all the things we're glad Netflix brought back into our lives.
Like yurts. And plans. And hallucinogenic scams. Do those things ever actually work?
Not for George Sr., it seems.
"Borderline Personalities" starts with George Sr. and some other CEOs searching for financial empowerment in a sweat lodge in the desert. It doesn't seem to be going so well.
The Arrested Development standard title card and voice over tell us that this time it’s going to be George Sr.’s arrested development. I see what they’re doing here, and I think I like it. I’m just waiting for Gob’s episode.
That land George Sr. bought on the border of Mexico has turned into his newest money-making venture. It involved yurts...

The Bluths really are back, as Netflix released all 15 episode of Season 4 on Sunday, May 26.
Over the next 15 days, we'll be posting one review every morning, taking readers back over the latest Arrested Development quotes and, well, developments, starting with how Michael ended up alone in Phoenix.
Previously on Arrested Development... a whole bunch of stuff happened. Three seasons worth. You definitely want to go watch those right now if you haven't seen them. The rest of us will wait until you catch up.
Kidding. We won't wait. Because we've already been waiting for 7 years. Or just since Netflix announced that season 4 was in the works. Whichever.
A new title card announces Arrested Development is a Netflix (Semi) Original series and with that, we're on our way!
"Flight of the Phoenix" opens during Cinco de Quatro. Flashback 30 years to Newport Beach, 1982. A young Lucille Bluth (played by Kristen Wiig, who...

The Brewster McCloud DVD cover advertises the movie as "A different kind of film from the director of M*A*S*H."
Different. Now, there's an understatement.
Robert Altman's 1970 avian-themed follow-up to M*A*S*H is, well, an exceedingly odd bird. A sloppy mishmash of satire, crime caper and comic (but not terribly funny) weirdness, Brewster McCloud is hardly the renowned director's best work. But it's an interesting movie -- I wouldn't say it's a good one -- and one worth watching, if only to inspire a post-viewing discussion of what the hell Altman was thinking when he made it.
One thing Altman apparently wasn't thinking of is a coherent story. The titular McCloud (Bud Cort) is an introverted, intellectual young man who lives in the bowels of the Astrodome. His dream is to build a set of mechanical wings and fly, so he spends his days studying birds,...

--------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from "Glease"?
Leigh: Damn, I really missed Kate Hudson!! When she was giving Rachel the verbal smackdown over the phone, all I could think of was Regina George in Mean Girls: "She's fabulous but she's evil."
Suzanne: All the New York stuff! I missed New York, although I got whip lash from Kate Hudson's abrupt change from "nice, concerned mentor" to "love interest stealing floozie."
Gui: There were many great moments in this episode. Marley and her mother were really sweet, and...

What was your favorite scene?
Leigh: I loved when Mr. Shu handed over the reigns of the glee club to Finn. It felt very fitting.
Miranda: The scene with Finn where Wade/Unique talks about not fitting in anywhere was both heartbreaking and uplifting. I'm glad he has glee club.
Suzanne: When everyone found out their parts. I am totally on board with their casting choices.

What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Suzanne D: My favorite scene was Rachel singing the duet while Flynn watched. His face was just fantastically sad and confused.
Suzanne B: The best scene was Blaine showing up, forcing them to figure stuff out. And the breakup scene had gorgeous NY background and lighting. No Doubt's "Don't Speak" was a perfect song choice for that scene.

Glee's second episode of the season was a sequel. Sort of. "Britney 2.0" saw the gang trying to help Brittany S. Pierce after her fall from the top of the Cheerios pyramid. But was it worth it to revisit Brit-Brit? Or should Glee just leave Britney alone once and for all?
Join our Round Table of TV Fanatic staff members Leigh Raines and Miranda Wicker - along with TV Fanatic readers Suzanne Davis and Suzanne Brown - as they dish on all things Brittany/Britney and those pesky love triangles. Read on and then sound off below!
-------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from "Britney 2.0"?
Suzanne D: I liked when Puck yelled at his brother. He's dreamy and Baby Puck totally needed that kick in the behind.
Leigh: I'm so biased because I am a huge Kate Hudson fan. I randomly loved the heart to heart she had with Rachel.
