Quickly synthesizing the mythology behind Jobu Tupaki (Stephanie Hsu), the all-powerful, multiverse-jumping architect of the nihilistic Everything Bagel in Everything Everywhere All at Once, could be a tough task. But the antagonist conjuring one audacious outfit after another — during her reign of chaos against her laundromat-owning mother, Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), — illustrates a pretty universal behavior. (Pardon the pun.)
Golfer Jobu’s wholesome look is meant to send up the stereotype of the perfect Asian daughter.
“It’s a call for attention because she wasn’t getting it from her mom in the ‘real’ world,” says Shirley Kurata, costume designer of the sci-fi thriller-slash-family dramedy. Revealing herself to Evelyn to be an alternate version of her daughter, Joy, Jobu wears a show-stopping bedazzled white jumpsuit as she slow-walks toward her shell-shocked mom amid a burst of uncontrolled confetti. “The Elvis look is to provoke...

As Tim Gunn would say, Make it work. That's exactly what Fergie tried to do last week when she stepped out in a Jean-Charles de Castelbajac dress that was just a touch too small for her. The Black Eyed Peas singer couldn't close up her dress properly, so instead she left it half unzipped, added a black panel and voilà—perfectly fitting from the front! But she left it totally visible for all to see at the A Night of Firsts bash in Los Angeles. Fail. Adjustments like this are pretty common in the fashion world, when designers' sample size 2 dresses are just too tiny to fit a healthy (and busty) star like Fergs. But why didn't the babe at least wear a jacket, or...

Every girl knows how annoying it is to find a dress you totally love that just doesn't fit when you try it on -- But regardless of how much you fell in love with the frock, it's never a good idea to commit to it. Unfortunately, it looks like Fergie was determined to wear this strapless get-up regardless of whether or not it fit her last night. The star has such a phenomenal figure that it makes no sense why she wouldn't just choose a different dress for the occasion. Fergie turned up at the 'Night of Firsts' event in La on Dec. 8, where she opted for a fun and colorful Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Felix the Cat frock from the Spring 2012 collection. From the front, it seemed like she was sewn into the form-fitting frock and she looked phenomenal -- but unfortunately when she turned around she revealed the fact...

Katy Perry and Kanye West greeted each other yesterday at the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac runway show during Paris Fashion Week. Katy donned an electric blue wig for the presentation, where she and Kanye shared a hug before taking their seats in the front row. Kanye also attended Givenchy on Sunday, where he and Liv Tyler wore matching outfits. Those are just some of the celebrities who have traveled to the City of Lights for the stylish festivities. Jennifer Hudson and Zoe Saldana toasted Michael Kors at a party there earlier this week, and Blake Lively's new position as a Chanel spokesmodel was celebrated at a private dinner on Saturday night. Russell Brand didn't join his wife for her trip, but the pair spent some time together in La last week before she headed to Europe and she was on his mind when he hit the red carpet in NYC on Monday.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Once a star gets ubiquitous enough, it's time to start wondering whether or not said star can teleport or bi-locate. There would have to be supernatural abilities involved, because otherwise the amount of travel they do seems impossible. Justin Bieber is one of these stars, as is Miley Cyrus. Kanye West had a run in there were it seemed likely. We should keep track of Katy Perry, because she has been everywhere as of late. On Tuesday (March 8th), she made her latest public appearance at the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac show at Paris Fashion Week. Wearing a blue wig and dressed in a '60s-inspired striped dress,...

Calling all couture cops—it's You Write 'Em Up time! The Perp: Katy Perry, at Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's prêt-à-porter show in Paris Ooh la la, the singer may be trying a little too hard to get into character with this Smurfette takes the City of Light look during French Fashion Week. (She's the voice of the female Smurf in the animated movie hitting theaters this August.) On its own merits, this Gallic-inspired tunic dress is très chic, but would it have killed Katy to go as herself? What do you think of Perry's follicular nod to the little blue people? Write a clever caption below and we'll post our favorite here and on our Facebook page.

As you might have guessed from Katy Perry’s typically randy tweets (“Oh Paris… Can I see you again tomorrow or would that make me slutty? #Parissweetdreams”), the singer has been taking in the city of love as part of her European tour for Teenage Dream (“Can’t wait to shimmy for you tonight!!!”). Perry took a break from the shimmying to attend the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac show at Paris Fashion Week earlier today, wearing a blue wig, dramatic sunglasses and tight, zebra-striped dress. Reminds you of Lady Gaga a bit, doesn’t it?
You’d think there might be some rivalry between the two, but apparently she doesn’t mind being associated with the Fame Monster. While performing an acoustic medley yesterday, Katy slipped in a bit of Gaga’s latest hit “Born This Way,” somehow keeping herself from mugging too ironically. She also slipped in bits of Jay-z and Willow Smith,...
