In addition to success at USC (University of Southern California) he
coached the United States Olympic Baseball Team to a Silver medal in
the 1984 Summer Games
Children: sons Justin and Terry; daughters Michele and Denise.
Survived by fourteen grandchildren, including USC freshman first
baseman-outfielder Adam Dedeaux.
A memorial service will be held in the spring 2006 at Dedeaux Field the
USC baseball diamond named for him in 1974.
Shortstop in 2 games with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1935.
Inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006 (inaugural class).
Inducted into the University of Southern California Athletics Hall of Fame in 1994 (inaugural class).
Head baseball coach at USC for 45 seasons, won 1332 games and 10 NCAA titles. Played for the 1935 Brooklyn Dodgers.
