Silent screen actress who began as a child star at Biograph in 1908. She appeared in nearly 40 short films directed by D.W. Griffith. In 1911 DeGarde moved to Vitagraph, where she played ingenues for the rest of the decade.
Retired from acting at age 19 to marry and start a family. Her last film, The Girl and the Graft (1918), was released two weeks after her wedding.
