Covert Affairs’ Kari Matchett and True Blood’s Stephen Moyer are to star in Canadian spy drama Fortunate Son. The series, which is set in the social and political chaos of the late 1960s, is produced by NBCUniversal-backed Lark Productions and Wynonna Earp producer Seven24Films for CBC.
Matchett, who has also featured on The Good Doctor, plays Ruby Howard, an American who fled to Canada as a fugitive from the law. Set in the chaos of the late 1960s, the Vietnam War and the anti-war protest movement, Ruby helps smuggle Vietnam War deserters and draft evaders across the Canadian border. Marley & Me scarred me for life. I.m a longtime dog owner and lover and just couldn.t handle the sob-inducing ending. Since, I.ve sworn off all dog movies that could be even remotely sad. Along with Dennis' life rights, the story as chronicled in the children's book Nubs: A Marine, a Mutt and a Miracle, was purchased after making the rounds on talk shows like "Today,...
