- When he was 9 years old, he was moments from being captured by Thrill Killers Leopold and Loeb. Outside of his school he stood on the same corner where Leopold and Loeb would kidnap Bobby Frank moments later. Frank arrived on the corner and Deutch suddenly remembered that he had a dentist appointment and left. He admits to this day that if he hadn't remembered the appointment that he would have been killed too.
