He studied music education at Hofstra, and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in music at the Manhattan School of Music. He joined the music faculty at Hofstra, retiring in 2018.
Composer who collaborated with engineer Robert Moog in the 1960s to develop the portable electronic music apparatus which became known as the Moog synthesizer.
