If you’ve ever visited the towns of South American countries, you’ve probably seen the one-of-a-kind bags, shoes, ceramics (and more) that populate local shops. The artisans who create these beautifully crafted designs have influenced designers and brands the world over, but they don’t always reap the financial rewards of their labors. American businessmen James Dillon and Kara Goebel, the duo behind Ethical Fashion Guatemala (Efg), want to change that.
The team has been working with Guatemalan craftsmen for the last seven years and started Efg, a website that provides a platform for artisans to get their fair share.

The revived 90s gameshow received over 30,000 applications from the public, from which 15 teams were selected. That lot join five celebrity teams tackling 41 new games in an initial series of 20 hour-long episodes.
Unlike the Stephen Merchant-presented charity episode, which was filmed at the popular London Crystal Maze Experience, the new instalments were recorded in a purpose-built 32,500 square foot maze created by original maze designer James Dillon.

Hot off the press comes the news that The Crystal Maze is to make a comeback via Channel Four for a complete series with the slightly left of centre Richard Ayoade, to host this iconic game show.
Speculation has been circling for a while over the series host and it’s finally been confirmed that deadpan funny man, actor, director, writer and television presenter, Ayoade, is set to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Richard O’Brien who hosted the original series which ran on Channel Four between 1990 and 1993 and then Ed Tudor-Pole from 93 until the show’s end in 1995.
The show will have a staggering 20-hour long episodes which are due to start filming later on in the year. Quite frankly, was there any question over who would have been the utmost perfect fit for this show? We can imagine the people down at the...

The Crystal Maze: first official picture
Here it is, the first official look at presenter Richard Ayoade in some posh togs for the revived series of The Crystal Maze, due to arrive on Channel 4 this June.
Feast your eyes on this:
Using Den of Geek's renowned fashion nous, we can tell you that Mr Ayoade is sporting a hot raspberry corduroy suit which has been paired with a natty white lace-up ankle boot and an entomologically themed shirt. With a collar. He's probably wearing socks too, but you'll have to imagine those. Stripes, maybe?
You may also notice that Ayoade is standing in front of the new-look Crystal Dome with fancy light displays running around its facets that are almost as snazzy as his outfit. Magic.
The Crystal Maze will return for a new series
It's official. The Crystal Maze will be returning to Channel 4 for a full, twenty-episode series including a handful of charity celebrity specials .
The series was commissioned following the overwhelmingly positive response to last year's Stand Up To Cancer celebrity edition (and no doubt, the ongoing success of the ace Crystal Maze Experience in London and soon, Manchester).
Presenting this time around will be new Maze Master Richard Ayoade, confirmed to be taking over from Stephen Merchant. Well-loved for Gadget Man, The It Crowd, The Mighty Boosh and directing feature films The Double and Submarine, Ayoade is a mighty fine choice.
The new series will be filmed at a purpose-built 30,000 square foot maze in Bristol created by the original Crystal Maze designer James Dillon.

A man who allegedly went on a violent day-long crime spree that included stabbing a man to death, setting fire to a homeless man and slashing a woman was shot and subdued by authorities Sunday night, People confirms. Law enforcement authorities have not yet charged James Dillon, 23, with any crimes, but criminal counts will likely be filed on Monday, a source tells People. Chicago – Though British author Neil Gaiman’s six-part, three-hour miniseries “Neverwhere” first aired in 1996, it feels like a relic from a much earlier period in television’s past. Before digital technology enabled small-screen dramas to appear visually indiscernible from major film productions, in-camera effects and handcrafted sets were the norm. It’s inspiring to observe just how much can be achieved on a shoestring budget.
In light of the film’s subsequent books and stage versions, including Lifeline Theatre’s successful 2010 adaptation, it’s clear that Gaiman’s witty adventure series has struck a chord with audiences around the world. Seen fifteen years after its initial release, the show holds up remarkably well. It utilizes the London Underground’s transit system as the jumping off point for its parallel fantasy world (known as “London Below”), with various creatures and lands inspired by actual locations. For example, the angel Islington (played...

Hamlet
Prepare for the latest battle of the princes. John Simm is first in the field at the Sheffield Crucible; then Rory Kinnear enters the running in a Nicholas Hytner production for the National Theatre. It's not, of course, a contest – but comparisons will be inevitable. Crucible, Sheffield (0114-249 6000), from 16 September; and Olivier, London SE1 (020-7452 3000), from 7 October.
The Thrill of it All
Forced Entertainment continues the British experimental tradition with an evening of vaudevillian capers, Japanese lounge music and tarnished sequins. Nuffield, Lancaster (01524 594151), 12-13 October. Then touring.
Tribes
Nina Raine follows her impressive debut play, Rabbits, with a drama about an unconventional family that has its own private language and rules. At its centre is Billy, who is deaf and...
