Following talks with manager Simon Grayson, Huddersfield Town centre back Jamie McCombe has agreed to cancel his contract by mutual agreement, according to TeamTalk.
McCombe made a total of sixty eight appearances and scored nine goals during his time with the club. The move comes shortly after Town decided to allow fellow defender Anthony Kay to leave the club and join League One Mk Dons.
Talks between the manager and the player revealed that he needs to play regularly. McCombe who is twenty nine years of age only made five senior first team appearances last season and with new defensive enforcement’s in the form of Joel Lynch and Paul Dixon now is probably the best time for the player to make a move to pastures new.
Having played for Bristol and Lincoln City it will be interesting to see who would be willing to offer the centre back a contract.

Despite showing some very good ball retention skills Huddersfield managed to hold off their opponents to the end of the first half where the scores were level at 0-0. Honours even at the break it was quite clear that a young newly formed Huddersfield side were finding it difficult to put together any sort of flowing movement to break through a stubborn Spanish resistance.
The usually bright Jordan Rhodes was unable to show his prolific form that he showed in League One and the ever hardworking Lee Novak was not able to grab a foothold in the game. The second period saw Barcelona make eight...
