In August 1954, Patric Doonan took over Richard Attenborough's role of
Det. Sgt. Trotter in the still on-going theatre production of Agatha
Christie's "The Mousetrap". At the time of his suicide, Doonan was
engaged to be married to the film actress Ann Firbank.
