- When Edwards died in 1971, nearly broke and alone, Walt Disney Productions, remembering his many contributions to their films over the years, paid for his funeral.

- Also plays the voice of Dandy Crow (also known as Jim Crow) and sings "When I See An Elephant Fly" in Walt Disney's Dumbo (1941).

He also reprised the role in Fun and Fancy Free (1947) and many other features for Disney. After Edwards' death in 1971 the role was taken over by Eddie Carroll.

- Cliff Edwards does not appear in the film, but his singing voice is heard during the "Harlem Madness" number in the 1930 MGM picture "They Learned About Women".
- His 1st wife Gertrude Ryrholm passed away just 2 months after him.
