- Son of a famous music hall comedian, also called Fred Emney (1865-1917). Fred Jr.'s sisters Doris and Joan Fred Emney were also comediennes.
- Portly British comedian with music hall background, also surprisingly good pianist and composer. Enjoyed many successful runs on the stage, most notably "Blue for a Boy" at Her Majesty's Theatre in London (1950-1951). Appeared in occasional films. Often spotted a monocle and, invariably, a fat cigar.
